  1. plummers are cracking dogs , but i to don't see alot of them, the keeper near me has one but thats the only one i know of look forward to the pics nathgoon

  5. hi all I'm looking for a first shotgun but i don't know which one will be best ,i don't have a sgc yet so its very much in the process . i have no preferences regarding over-unders and side by sides , and i don't want to spend anything over 150-300 i know i wont get anything flash for that money but ill only have it for max a year . it will be used for a bit of wildfowl pigeon and all corvids on my permission . i don't mind about weight or bore . so any recommendations would be welcome . thanks for reading nathgoon

  7. you should go to collage and get a work placement , and if you impress they will take you on . thats what my cousin did and now he runs a shoot in the bordors . i am in the process of going to collage but not until next sept tho because of moveing . personaly i feel thats your best bet . but obviousley going beating /picking up will help you no end aswell. good luck

  10. right,so I'm quite new to the terrier scene and I'm just wondering if there a good "starter book" that anyone can point me to . I'm looking for something that tells me of the different breeds the jobs they have and how too work them to maximum effect.i dont whant to pay OTT about £20-£25, any advice would be great . thanks for reading. nathgoon

  14. yep my insurance is sorted . i do need a new rifle tho , so i wont be shooting anything till Thurs when i get it. i pride myself on making a quick easy painless kill. i might kill myself by then tho with the excitement of getting out there!!! and pics to come ofcourse
  15. its nice to see some real hunting with dogs .ive been boar hunting with my dads mate , he used a parson jack cross patt and ofcourse a am bulldog . the jack/patt was the most game dog ive ever seen she would take on anything put in front of her. not a scratch on her in the end . the best hunting ive ever had . i would strongly recormend it
  16. afternoon all. i just like to say (show off) that today Ive finally got my FIRST permission. my dad recently got a new job as herdsman on a farm. and i thought i just give it a go not expecting much, and just like that 'bam' Ive got 800acers of permission. . i hear people giving out letters, cards, and ringing farmers up Ive even seen in magazines people willing to "buy permission" , all i can say is go and ask . whats the worsed that could happen?
  17. hi, i might be clouching at straws here but , does anyone work or have worked irish wolfhounds . i know similer breeds like the deerhound are quite populer but ive never heard of a wolf hound beeing worked for coursing etc . preban or otherwise. thanks. nathgoon

  20. good luck mate . you should write to some estates in your area, or go and see them . but listen gamekeeping is a 24/7 job ,shit money , shit social life . but very very rewarding. if you cant get a job, go to collage , and get in with the right crowd . go beating or picking up ,and have a word with the keeper there . good luck
  21. hi , im looking for a new springer air rifle (i dont trust pcps) . i just need abit of advice in which would be the best for hunting. ill proberbly spend about £200. ive seen the bsa supersport for about 180-200 and the stroger x20 for 165-200 . would one of those be a good chose? thanks , nathgoon
