  1. Saying that, I know a lad that has a BSA supersport for sale. With 2 scopes. One is an ags. Don't know what the other is. It needs a bit of attention. The bolt that holds the stock to the action has snapped, so needs drilling out. He said he would take a reasonable offer for it. He's in Preston Lancs if this helps mate. You could end up wi a real bargain pal.
  2. Nice budget springer is a hw 99 s. Brilliant little rifle IMO. You wouldn't go far wrong with one of these pal. For a shade over £200 brand new. If you could find one second hand, you'd be on to a real winner.
  3. Employed mate. It's a joke.
  4. Yes true Steve, It takes a lot more knowledge of your combo to make accurate shots at different ranges with a .22 calibre pellet. Sitting on your zero is fine but making long range shots is where the skill is in with .22 calibre shooting. I think that's why you get the old rumour that so many believe in that a .177 is more accurate than a .22. This rumour is utter rubbish and both calibres are as accurate as each other. Where the in- accuracies come in is with the shooter themselves not having the practice and understanding of the ballistics involved to master the calibre.
  5. well i went and picked my hw100 up today, after having the stock stripped and all the dinks and scratches taken out, and the cylinder and the silencer wrapped. it looks great. a massive improvement from when i first got it. it was a rough old dog. cant wait to get out on sunday with it. had some bad news today though, injured my knee a few yrs ago. turns out id snapped my cruciate ligament. been in pain for 10 yrs, kept going back to my gp, went for nhs physio, didnt do any good. went to see a private physio today and he told me the score. the snapped ligament will have been absorbed back into
  6. So true. I watched a sparrow hawk flitting about in a hedge for about 20 mins the other week. I was lost in myself watching it. Also in winter I was sat in a bush that I use as a hide, and the biggest flock of long tailed tits, came and landed on the bush. There seemed to be hundreds of them. Lol. I know there wasn't that many, it just seemed that way because they were that close, all chattering away.
  7. daystate harrier x. .22 cal. like brand new. less than a tin of pellets from new. comes with 3-9x50 scope and gun bag. mint condition. extremley accurate. £400.
  8. well the .22 hw100 has been away for a week now, having the stock oiled and having a wrap put on the cylinder ans silencer. but i starting to get withdrawl symptoms, cant even have a plink in the garden.
  9. Cheers guys. But I'm still non the wiser lol. I love the hw 100 .22 cal. And shot count ain't really an issue as I have 2 dive bottles. I've been doing a quite a bit of practicing at lots of distances and different elevations recently, and I've found it's helped no end. I'm much more confident, taking shots that before would have made me overthink the shot and miscalculate. So I would Deffo say that the more practice that I have pit in with the 22 the easier the judging of the flightpath of the pellet.
  10. i currently own a hw 100 t in 22 cal. its used mainley for hunting. but for some reason ive been thinking about trading it in for a 177 kt. i could really do with some advice on this subject, i know its been done to death, ut could a few people thats used both rifles give me their honest opinions on both. i understand the flatter trajectory of the .177 and the benefits. but which rifle is really best suited for rabbits and squirrel control. thanks guys.
  11. 10 bar in 2-3 hours could this just not be down to a fluctuation in temp??? taken from a gun bag in a warm room, and taken into a colder room???
  12. was thinking bout using the quickfill adaptor, but looking at it, when everthing is assembled, there looks to be a bit of a gap between the cylinder and the adaptor. not only does it look bad, but it also looks a place liable to collect dust and grit.
  13. think i might be taking a cylinder off you in a couple of weeks darryl.
  14. Hi mole. I contacted hull cartridge, and they said they don't offer a swap, in fact they wouldn't even give me a price on a new cylinder. They told me to contact my local dealer, and go through them. I called Blackpool air rifles, and was quoted just over £200 for a new cylinder. So now it looks like a toss up between the £75 quickfill upgrade adaptor and the a&m quickfill cylinder. £140. The a&m will take almost 1 lb in weight off the gun. But the adaptor will add a bit to it, and push the original cylinder forward nearly 2 inches. Making the rifle slightly more fore end heavy. Any th
  15. 22 cal mate. If you pm me your number, I will send the pics to your phone pal. Cheers
  16. Harrier x for sale mate. Absolute mint condition, with 3-9x50 scope. Plus bag. Less than a tin of pellets through it from new. £400. B/burn Lancs.
  17. For sale daystate harrier x. Absolute mint condition. Less than a tin of pellets through it since new. Comes with 3-9x 50 scope and bag. It's like brand new. £400 face to face only. Lancs. Cheers guys.
  18. A guy that I know just managed to bag himself an mfr and a daystate harrier x both in absolute mint condition, both scoped up with quality optics, and between the both of them probably only fired a tin of pellets. He only really wanted the mfr, but he got them off his mate at a cracking price, so couldn't refuse the daystate. He is selling the daystate now so that will make the mfr even better value. The lucky b&stard. Lol
  19. Hi mole. What's a swamp mate? I will have a look at a&m cylinders.
  20. Was wondering if anyone had converted an old style hw100 with a screw off cylinder using the quickfill upgrade adapter, if so, how did it perform ?
  21. Cheers guys. Just been to b&q with the mrs to get some moss killer for the lawn( it's more moss than lawn, so I can see this turnin into a turfing job once all the moss dies lol) and I took the o ring with me just to see if they had any. I managed to find a pack of small o rings in the plumbing section. 8 o rings £1.29.. And 2 of them are the correct size. Happy days. Am thinking about converting to the quick fill adapter. Anyone used the adapter to change from the old style screw off cylinder, to the quick fill? If so how did the adapter perform? And was it, in your opinion, value for mo
  22. Hi guys. The little tiny o ring on my hw 100 filling adapter has split. The local gun shops don't stock them, and I'm wondering if anybody knows where I could get hold of some? Or if anybody has any spare that I could buy from them. It's the early model with the screw off cylinder. Thanks in advance people.
  23. cheers guys will pass this info on
  24. can anyone offer any tips as to which pellet to use in the above rifle? my mate has one, but his groups are about 2 inch at 20 yrds using air arms pellets. i know its a case of trying a few brands. accupel/rws superfield, and so on. but was wondering if anyone had the same rifle and what pellets they where using?? cheers guys
