    meat and egg yokes, egg whites aint much good for em leave him in a rabbit or brid whole carcuss and he'll gorge on it till he puts the weight back on maybe lactose free milk to give him calcium aswell if he ain't ate for a while he'll need a bit of calicum

    judging by the bite its got insisors which tells me its a predator of some kind and the fact its on the neck ,also with the water source you got a maybe on mink ,stoat or if you have them in the area polecat/pinemartin if it had been one straight cut this would indicate a rat bite that can be deadly to ferrets as they carry leptospirosis but this isn't the case .i'm no expert thats just my opinion if the swelling gets worse take it to vet try to salt wash it and maybe squeeze it to get puss out . if the colour of the skin get really weird it may have been a snake but i'd say if that was th

    Ok my moneys on mink or a stoat then probably down there on a kill and got disturbed as ferrets carry lots of antibodies it should be able to deal with it and swelling should go down after a few days is the skin around the bite a funny colour ?

    what did the bite look like was it one straight cut or two holes and were you fairly near to a river or lake also were in the country were you if you give me this info i may be able to get an idea of what has biten it and go from there

    Yes let him see the ferret in the hutch first smell it and that then handle ferret in front of him any snaps at the ferret should be told off straight away this way your dog will see that your protecting the ferret then after some time put the ferret down and let him have a sniff and he should soon get used to him over a short period

    right so i'm not alone on this one thats good to know i've had ferrets since i was a boy and it never happend before to be honest shes now acting strange at home i think her head may be gone with the wind i'll wait till she's out of season and see if its that i hope so i've had her years and don't won't her to have to go for a long walk in the bottom field if you know what i mean
