She's been publicly humiliated, recieved death threats, lost her job and god knows what else. The cat was unhurt, she shouldn't have done it, this amount of media attention is way out of line. I dont agree with what she did but I feel really sorry for her. Too many freaks out there who enjoy feeling justified bullying someone else....

Do you mean that there are too many carbs and not enough protein in his diet? -

Thanks for all the advice. Gonna give skinners a go, its half the price of Hills. If I try giving him an egg do i give it raw? I'm loading him up on maceral and sardines at the moment. -

Yes he has dry patches that look pink and sore, didn't notice them cos he has black fur but when I brushed him there were flakes of skin. He also has a patch of pink sore skin on his lip, not sure if that is related. Looks like another $$$ trip to the vet -
I would try pointing the balloons out to the dog when they are very far away. The instant the the dog looks at one give it a treat. Stay as calm as possible and try to keep you voice happy and exited and repeat every time. If the dog starts to loose control or lose interest in the treats then it's time to back off as it's fear has probably taken over. My trainer would say that you are starting to crack the problem when the dog looks at a ballon and then looks at you expecting a treat. I would gradually let the ballons get closer. This is the technique my trainer used to help me with my dogs ne

Only a replacement for your hoover if you like small things turned in to even smaller things.... Expect everything in your house to get eaten/chewed/destroyed. WOuldn't swap mine for the word but he's a messy destructive bugger and sheds a lot more than I expected as well

How old is your Lab? He looks great, mine looks alot like yours

I don't like it either....typical BBC brainwashing RE the CO2 emissions. Only thing I agreed with was, that was a good way of showing porosity in sandstone. If I has to explain porosity in rocks I would have done exactly the same thing....but not with beer

Cheers do you meen something like this? http://www.csjk9.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=45&idcategory=5 Thanks for the advice -
My Lab is looking pretty good but I have noticed he has small patches of dry skin mostly on his body but one or two on his face. I guess I need to get him checked out by a vet first in case there is something causing this but I am also wondering if it is just his diet. In general he has a nice looking coat but the fur is a little dry. I have been feeding him on Hills Science Plan for Puppies and now switched to the large breed Science plan. We have been giving him tuna and sardines recently to see if this will help but I can't see any massive difference. Does anyone else have any expe

Hi Mate Been going through the same thing with my Lab. He drives me farkin insane. I think you have the right idea by going back to basics. What we are doing is taking him to fields where there aren't as many dogs, we also have a trainer who has been teaching us how to get his recall back. She advised us to call hm back and then for a treat let him go off for a sniff. If he doesn't come back she told us to run off or hide and call him. Obviously when he looks up and sees us legging it in the oposite direction or suddenly disapear behind a bush he runs after us. I was a bit suspec

Cheers for all the advice. I've decided to put the application in as soon as I get home. I have declared everything on the form and attached a note to explain the ban and the caution. I wrote that the ban was so long ago that I cannot tell them exactly what I got on my licence nor the exact dates but the approximate date and offenses. I tried asking the DVLA but they don't keep any records once the points expired which supprised me! I also attached a note to explain the circumstances that led me to go to the GP for the anti-depressants. So everything should be 100% upfront. I am also g

Yep joined BASC a year ago. I could ask them for advice as well

Cheers mate Thats great advice! I have been precision shooting .22 targets(prone shooting. I am sure I can get soemthing that states I handle my rifle safely and require no assistance. I am booking myself for a few clay pigeon lessons as I ahve found a package type deal where you get a certificate at the end to show you are competant and understand how to maintain a shotgun. I've had these forms filled out for months but have been a bit scared to put them in in case they turned me down...stupid I know!

Cheers mate Yep I understand they will want more details from the Doctor, I just hope she isn't Anti. It was only for a couple of months in 2007 when I wasn't getting much work and had problems with money, on top of which we'd just had a baby and my missus fell out with my parents so it all got a bit of a nightmare. Not a bad idea to get extra references, I can get a couple from work. Cheers Nick

Hi All A year ago I started shooting at a local target club. I am now a member. While I enjoy target shooting I am more interested in rough and clay shooting with a shotgun as I prefer hobbies that get me out of the house for a nice day out. I have also got a Labrador who I am training as a gun dog. I wasn't planning to apply for the SGC till next year as I am having work done to my attic (which is where I plan to put the cabinet) but as I have a couple of things that might raise a question mark on my application I am becoming a bit worried that I might be spending a lot of money in vain.

I've been at the recieving end of this possibly because I live in a big town and have rarely come across anyone who wants to work their dogs. While they are nice people the are very blinkered and I suffered from people giving my dogs food without asking me. I frequently get funny looks when I answer the question about puppy classes and even more so when I tell them I am not having my dog castrated!

Never ever accept a police caution. This might sound like it is just a 'caution' but it is worse that they make out as they put you on their record and can even take DNA.

Quick update. After the advice from a freind who trains his own dogs for shooting I have stopped taking him tot he park as I think I have built up an association that will be hard to break. I am walking him on the road and to the shops alot to try and get him used to people more and to get him walking to heel pefectly. After our walk I now take him to a local tennis court where I do three exercises. The first I make him sit in the middle and I give him the stay comman. I then walk in a large circle around him and if he even looks like moving I give him a sharp warning I also try to

Cheers for all the advice. I think the main cause is that his balls have dropped recently so he's started being interested in bitches and marking where other dogs urinate so his hormones are overloading him at the moment. In the house he is perfect and knows all the commands I've trained him on but the minute that I take him to a park where there are other dogs he just wants to run off and play, and when he does he doesn't come back. I wonder if I have given him the wrong signals by letting him off the lead to play every time I go to the park so now he associates grass and other dogs

    I too have suffered at the hands feet of our muslim brothers! I really hate having to wipe down the toilet at work before I can take a crap!

Thanks Ricky I'm just shocked at how fast he went down hill, one minute he was doing great then he had a few days off with Kennel Cough then we went back to the park where I do my training and he just ran off. It doesn't help that people take dogs that are in season there leaving behind a trail of scent that drives him to distraction. My garden isn't very big but I do training exercises there where he is pretty good so fingers crossed it's just a phase as you say. My problem is now I feel I can't trust him off the lead. I took him somewhere more isolated and threw out the dummy for a retri

There is a big difference between being a racist and being patriotic mate, I do not have a problem with anyone who comes here and tries to integrate with our society to make the country a better place, but to come here and try to drag our culture into the gutter well I do have a problem with that, and to tar everyone who does not agree with your views a racist well that is just the society we live in now. Right and wearing a Burkha is to 'drag our culture into the gutter', if your worried about our culture mate i'd take a long look at the sorry excuse for what passes as a brit these da

Ha! this country is way too spineless to ban it If they did ban it the muslims would just flout the rules and the politically correct police would be too scared to ever prosecute anyone. In france already a wealthy muslim has made a million euros available to help women pay for the fines. Last concensus said there were 1.5 million muslims in the Uk the next will surely show that to have increased to 3 or 4 million. They are becoming more and more powerful and any attempt to curb their militant ways will hurt our trading agreements with muslim countries. Countries like Saudi are very

Up to a couple of months ago things were going well with my Lab. I was focusing on recall and retrieving and virtually all the time he would come running back to me when I blew the whistle. Suddenly over the last few weeks he has completely stopped listening and now just seems obsessed with the smells in the park. It is like someone replaced my obedient Labrador with a little b*****d intent on driving me to an early grave. I am trying to figure out what has gone wrong. There are people who have taken their dogs to the park while on heat so these are the smells that are probably driving him
