Have a look at this for example.. I studied in Camborne. The landscape these days is very nice and attracts tourists etc but in the 1800s and early 1900s it was a hideous wasteland.
A lot of rural areas would have looked pretty nasty back then especially if there was mining or or extraction going on. The mills would have polluted the crap out of the rivers up north where I live.
In short many nice rural ares we have now used to be industrial wastelands.
Not sure about that bud
Every one burned house coal and the air around even small towns would have been filthy.
The countryside had much more industry in it back then as well compared to today, lots of pollution of rivers and the general landscape.
Just getting to the end of reading The Game Keeper by Iain Niall. Great book and sure puts things in to perspective...life wasn't all roses back then that is for sure and a lot harder than life today.

It's one thing to be a bit disappointed that your son/daughter might not grow up to have kids or lead the same kid of life that you did but those people who make it a massive issue or disown them should be ashamed. Your kids are still your kids and life is too short to get bothered by something like this.
But lets be honest I bet if it did happen to most people they'd soon change their tune
Look at these two imbeciles carrying unexploded ordnance along a beach with their family in tow...Sure there is a chance that they are dummy rounds but would you take the chance?
