there are a few that sell longnets as well as the basket, these are cheap enough to buy, its the poles that seem to push up the price so shop around

    4z or 6z?

showing off your net making skills it maybe but more than likely its because of the following. 1,adding a double mesh salvedge from a slightly thicker twine is common practice on bespoke handmade nets, the reason behind this is that this is where most of the ware happens through friction of the net running back and forth along the running line ( this in itself is another debate) 2, as for the colour, well its just how the twine comes.
  9. Thanks TOMO. so its not just a case of take your money and take your chances then as i first thought, your aloud to show a logo on your ads and van hell thats good value for over 300squid. but i would love to know more about the follow up measures that they do to make sure the signed companys are following their penned guied lines.
  10. come on rew think about your question now if your wanting to make a net thats 12yrds long dont you think the lines should be, let me guess. including the tags for the anchor pins 13yrds long?
  11. Why am i a dick for asking a question?i said i know nothing about mole catching. Bigeddie, like foxtrack said he knows all the answers and meer mortals like you and I are not worthy in the face of his vast knowledge. i bow down in the face of such greatness As for you being a dick bigeddie for asking a question, well i suppose without the questions knowledge wouldnt get passed from person to person. One thing ive learnt from this debate is this, after over 20 odd yrs earning my living from pestcontrol i seem to know shit. with this in mind i feel it only right and proper i close
  12. Im better at longnetting than mole catching
  13. CW i would love to gas every living thing but sadly it doesnt work like that, as for the bpca, just has me thinking there no better than the 70quid scam merchants only a little bit better at it when it comes to fooling members there getting a good deal. and foxtrack, if you have all the answers why ask in the first place? dont forget that myself and others on this forum arnt as wet behind the ears as we may seem, ive no axe to grind about my greatness, hell ask the wife she will tell you just how great i am and as for the moles, well one things for sure, they will still be there next sea
  14. your right mate it cant happn with gas its bull mate are you so sure about that? a bit like saying a snare set for a rabbit wont catch anything other than a rabbit. so the bpca do checks with customers, and what are these other measures to make sure the jobs done properly?
  15. just like snakes skin that we use in carp fishing
  16. same as any pest control method, in the wrong hands and all that. so what about joining the bpca, how apart from in house courses that you have to pay good mony for do they regulate a mambers working practices?
  17. how do they follow up the member to make sure there worht being a member, by asking them to pay for courses to show how profesinal they are?
  18. I'm not sure what you're asking? you said you work for a bpca acredited company, just wondered what that gives the customer as well as those who belong to such a organisation?
  19. oh so im a liar now and the gas only stays active for 1-2days. my traps stay active for 24hours a day, all day ever day. unless im lucky enough to catch a mole which i must say doesnt happn very often
  20. so what do customers and paid members get from a mamber of the bpca or the npta? this i have to hear
  21. just an observation..... i was called to clear a golf course where the last mole killer had used gas over a period of a few months. when i asked the maneger wher have all the song birds gone and that there were no feeding birds he answer wasnt a surprise. "" no mate, havent seen many birds since he started"" whys that you have to ask, simple, gas not only kills the moles(sometimes) it kills all the bugs and worms and insect life that birds need to flurish. second thing i asked was why he wasnt still using the mole killer with the gas, he answered.. " seemed to work for a while but
  22. read the labels and i think you will find they both are made from alluminum phosphides and have the same action in their manner of working. have to agree with mole trapper though, stick to the traps added.. had great sucsess this week with talunex, is that because the gas has killed the moles or pushed them away for a short while? this is something i found happened regular when i was using gas years ago.
  23. with leaded line you have an inner and outer core. remover the outer core to expose the inner core, CAREFULLY CUT OFF THE LEAD BEADS LEAVING ONLY THE CORD. do this for about 6-8inchs and you then have enough cord to do your clove hitch
  24. OH that one you used was the proto type, send me your details and i will gladly send you one free of charge, let me know how you get on with it.
