  1. i didnt even think of that mate! hows about in a nice warm bath then? lol
  2. the more muscle the higher the risk of injury so be carful about letting them run on pitches especially in winter. try them swimming aswell if you can that works them and hard!
  3. well well well! i put in the name on a search and it seems you started it off! i have got an irish terrier if anyone has a bitch that needs his services then let me know! ha ha anyone got any pics?
  4. He has a few bunny's but thats it. he has seen plenty of fox but i dont let him run on them. he is still young yet, only 16 months. he would know what to do though i think but that doesn't matter really with the law as it is. I saw the same litter advertised they were from derbyshire because i spoke to the bloke about them. I was intrested but he never got back to me so that was that. i have got a lurcher now any way so i am happy. I was only thinking about the idea like i said erlier because its a huge investment of lots of things. i would have to get a greyhound firstly as i doubt
  5. what is there f*****g problem? bunch of do gooders and thats why england is no more!
  6. well done. you cant have them messing the birds about! they are a pain, they keep sniffing round the bins at my work. what is the best trap because i dont own a gun? cheers jpt
  7. good thread this lads i have enjoyed reading it. i was thinking about the possibility of producing lurchers from my dog put over a greyhound. i have an irish terrier who is keen but he is 20 inch at the shoulder so he is too big for ground work and just a bit to slow for running things. if i was to mate hime to a greyhound of about 25-26 inch would the results be worthwile? what i would be looking for from the dogs would be stamina, speed and intelligence. i know you can not guarentee any of these treats but if i choose the right bitch would i have a chance of producing what i am after? what k
  8. Nice one mate I can just imagine her reading it!

  10. Good luck mate. I went out last night and wondered onto a feild I had not been on before and there were about 20 bunnys eating grass! Let the dog off and he managed to catch.................. none!!!!!!!!! Jon
  11. Oneredtrim, Hes had one more on the lamp since then so 3 in total. I took him out last night and it was perfect for it but he missed 2 easy sitters! I am just getting a bit pissed off with not catching anything and so is the dog! I want to get stuck into some rats because I know he will love that! I have got a lurcher pup now, she is 12 weeks tomorrow. Travelled 10 hours there and back to get her but by crickey it was well worth it! She is mental and will not stop attacking my irish terrier who isnt in the slightest bit bothered. Cheers, JPT

I bought the dvd 'Night and day with the Yorkshire Ratters' which is good but I dont know if my dog can mark rats like the dogs on that. I am always out mooching with them but have never come across any. Cheers, JPT

Hows Blue doing, has he caught anything yet? I got me a lurcher a few weeks back and she is doing well. She is a mix of all sorts so hopefully she should be a well rounded hunting machine! My terrier is doing well also and has had a couple of bunnys on the lamp. He has said hello to a few of the others but has yet to put his foot down! Hes keen though and I am out tonight with him so we shall see what destiny brings. A lit

    The little one had no chance, harsh in my opinion but a BIG laugh!
  17. What is the best coat on a terrier? My mate is illergic to wirey coats so which would be best for him because he is thinking about a pup? I told him to get a smooth coat Russel or Fell terrier but what do you lot recomend? Also which lines should he be looking for if he wants a good dog? We have permission to dig you see so it needs to do the job, does that mean no Plummers!? Cheers JPT
  18. I am going to have a look tomorrow in the day light and see what i find. I have found shit loads of rabbit burrows but not fox dens and I know there has got to be loads because I have seen many a fox and even a leash! There has got to be at least ten individual fox that I have seen out and about varying in shape, coloure and size. Cheers, JPT
  19. What sort of areas should I find fox dens? There are lots of foxes around in the fields but I dont know where they come from! Any tips please. Cheers you lot, JPT
  20. I got her at six weeks and she is now just over nine weeks. The photos were taken at about seven weeks old, i think! She is a cracker and I am glad I got her she is up for it all of the time as they are at that age. Caught a bunny the other night with my other dog and when I got back she had a sniff and took half of its ear off! She has had me a little worried at times because she gets really hyped up and makes some really evil sounds. I hope she is going to be sane as she matures! She has got all sorts in her: Greyhound, Whippet, Deerhound, Saluki, Beddy, and Collie.
  21. I bet he feels like a tit in that hat though! LOL ;
