  1. Sad news Ditch It's a real shame they go so soon. lovely epitaph to a much loved friend One door closes and another opens... good on and for you ...not to much drinking though...there'll be jabs to pay for
  2. Found this site...Could beeeeeeeeeeee 7th and 8th picture down. http://tpittaway.tripod.com/silk/s_pav.htm
  3. I understood what you mean't Ali...the counts on the moors i go on are taken at the end of July. On one place they were even taking blood samples after each drive from old and young birds. Maybe the shoots talked about do late counts, or maybe they shot and the numbers weren't there or the old to young ratio wasn't good I use something similar to this HTC http://www.shop-com.co.uk/O_Tom_Tick_Remov...ml?sourceid=309 hook the tick and turn the remover...quick and easy.
  4. Could be JD...though I had a trawl and couldn't find any pics that resembled mine...from what i found it says they change to a green colour so maybe this is the colour before the change. I think the fella originally told me it was a Painted Lady caterpillar but i cannot find a picture that resembles mine either, though i did find a description that was very similar. So i'm still up in the air with it.
  5. I can well believe it...i've pulled more ticks of my dogs this summer than ever before. Pulled 4 off one terrier today and one of another. The spaniel's had loads. On one moor during one day i took 15 off it that hadn't dug in. I took 3 off it the following day that had. It does make me wonder if there is any correllation between wild bird numbers and the cessation of the traditional sheep dip
  6. Forgot about this picture till i saw JD's...I was told at the time what it was...but now i haven't a clue. The picture was taken in July.
  7. Grim pictures Martin and a terrible time for all concerned. Lets hope its never allowed to go so far ever again. Nice signature you have there ...You might like the video at the bottom of the page. http://justy.netsoc.com/alpine.html
  8. I've never heard of dyeing flowers Al...had a google and there's plenty info on there, the piece i read they used food colouring in the vase and over a few days the flowers suck up the dye and the petals change colour. Thinking about it, i read somewhere that you could put something in the soil around a hydrangea and that would change the colour of the flower. I can't remember what it was though Thanks for the compliments on the photo But I'm afraid the only thing i do is point and press. The camera that did the work is an Acer CI 6330, they cost around £100, i just used the close up set
  9. Cheers G...I'll google that ...Here's mine...i dug it up and moved it last year, as it took over the garden. Ive got three now in a more appropriate place I saw a deep red one last week, hoping to get a cutting...thing is...once established ...its nothing for these to grow 6-8 feet in a season and they flower for fun and the Bees lovem
  10. The flower looks very much like a mallow or lavertaria if your posh...do you know what it is Al
  11. I think i'd initially think it would be a white weasel or stoat OTC...wouldn't think of a mole at all. Phew...glad i didn't catch it ...and there's no way i'm telling the old fella that I was wondering the same thing CW with the badgers...but then remembered that the ones i'd heard of were selectively culled ie the reds and albinos were released...which i guess would mean that more reds and albinos would be produced. With the moles i guess its just a genetic blip...and as they are not going to get the same treatment as the badgers will spring up whereever and whenever. Wish i c
  12. Caught this year in a duffus by a retired farmer, he'd never seen one before, anyone else seen/trapped one.
  13. A long rope onto a collar...if it wants to chase, let it chase...shout no...arrgh...whatever...yank it...then punish to your standard. repeat until it understands.
  14. Not only!!! do you post pictures of dogs with plant names on a gardening website but you have the temerity to put up a picture of beautiful acer when mine are green...its outrageous gutted
  15. The missis has four coming to the garden, she's feeding them dry ferret food, they don't half make a row. One especially sounds like it's got a terrible case of Broncitus...you can hear it coming for ages. They also dine on the speared slugs i've been leaving on the path.
  16. 2 Rats on two occasions...no pics no camera the shame of it
  17. Ring flash ...sounds painful Nice picture
  18. Hi G, The thing is...were not talking about microsofts own pages...were talking about the websites available to businesses e.g. http://kamosa.co.uk/default.aspx looks ok to me. By gingo they even do ear candleing for £25!!!! its a bargain
  19. I think you'll find the code is XHTML and kick ASP.NET mate and all you need do is follow simple instructions and not buy fancy pants web software As my great uncle used to say to my dad...Gates William
  20. I never thought of higher mounts just thought that they'd do spacers as this must be a regular problem...i like the negatives solution Stubby it might only take a mil so i'll give it a try... otherwise i'll get back to you Al if you don't mind about the mounts. Many Thanks
  21. Real bonnie Al...i had my pinks come first, then the orange and now in a sheltered spot these whites are just in flower the perfume is incredible. Did you know you that when theyre finished you can dig them up and split the new bulbs from the main bulb and replant and get more lillies.
  22. Lumps Great news Snoop...If its not one thing its the other...one of mine had one removed last month bust a few of the stitches but is closed up nicely now, just the fur to grow back. Just in time for the old game.
  23. The mounts are for a hawke scope...the problem is that the mag cannot be removed from the block as it catches on the underside of the scope...i can rotate the scope so the top click is on the left but would prefer it in the correct position and wondered if you could get/make shims for the scope. Cheers
