This is were we have the opportunity to self-regulate and show that we are a trustworthy bunch, so: ~ Report him to the permission ~ Report your concern to the police, you are not saying this is fact, just what you have been told, it up to them to investigate. ~ You are not grassing on the shooting fraternity, you are protecting shooting sport and SPORTMEN AND WOMEN. Its your call

Willum, thanks it good to hear from the real deal if you know what I mean. My other problem is rifle choice. I own a Pro-Hunter Mountian Mk2 (20" barrel with ART8 Mod) Shoot great. What I don't like is the single set trigger as I have miss fire just below the fox coming up unto them. The miss was only 4 or 6" but it an unintended miss. The other problem I have with this gun is that when re-cycling a round often she will load two up and jam, a pain in the rear when a fox demands a 2nd kick. Now here is the funny bit. I have a Pro-Hunter std in 6.5x55 ss and syn and I love this gun. The

Hi guys, thanks for the honest objective feedback, I appreciate it. I had this reply ready to post and lost it so this one will be brief. I have only ever use a 22/250 once in the USA on a one day shoot out with a friends M8s which it is worth noting one gun was a Thompson Sub Machine Gun and an AR15. Ok what happened to brief. In N. Ireland where I live field are much smaller than what you guys shoot on. Here is my fears of buying a 22/250 for lamping: ~ Noise at night (even though I would still moderate it) ~ Muzzel flash impacting night vision ~ Recoil moving me of the target eye

The age old debate: .222 V .223. It may be an old debate until you are like me, about to change your rifle which is a .222 and can't make your mind up wheather to stay with what you know or go for something new????????? What is it for? I shoot fox mostly by lamp. I love the .222 but as foxes get more lamp shy they don't come in so far so the .223 may be better. That said being honest there is only so far I can shoot out to of sticks (100yrds) and need to be prone to go further. I have shot fox at 180yrs with the .222. So what do I do?? I really can't decide . Once I change that

Nice pup mate. What age is she??? Is she a parson JRT??? Like me I just bought a new terrier pup 3 weeks back, first in some years. Once a terrier man always a terrier man I say. I think she will serve you well.

Guys I am not sure if this is the right forum section for this but here goes anyway. I haven't use a dog collar for going to ground in year but will need one next session. My old square Deben box that generally called "ferret finder" was what I used years ago. What is the best finder for a dog now??? It the orange thing that Deben sell just a new look on the old finder or is it better and HOW???? What about these fancy things that will point you to the dog if it is fields away???? Do these also pin point a dog that has gone to ground??? I have lots of time yet but want to do

If born isn't strong, the mussel may be able to break the bone. I once heard of a man breaking his arm leaning on a barrel. The theory is that at one point in his leaning, the mussel were not supporting his arm and all his weight came on the bone which snapped. Don't know if that is true but the guys arm did snap.

Personally I never get a roast to taste the way I want it. The next day when cool, it is great to eat anyway you want. The last 2 deer I butchered I just cut them into steaks and the rest my butcher minced it all 19lb of it. I love cooking it in steaks and so do my kids. What I do: Season the steaks both side with garlic power, garlic salt, fresh black pepper and a little fine sea salt. I fry in olive oil and butter. The main thing is dont over cook you need to have some colour left in the centre. I don't like it to rare but pink in the middle is good for me. I usually make a li

Big Dog222 replied to Big Dog222's topic in Living Off The Land & Game Cooking
Well my new pup Nell like them no matter I appreciate your comments and will try to test some. -
Agree with the guys. Deer Hunter has served me well and priced within reach too. My best bit of clothing is a DH waistcoat you get is camo or green as I did . I would replace it tomorrow if I had to. Good for foxing. In fact I think it is called the Fox waistcoat>>>>>>???

Why is some rabbit strong flavored
Big Dog222 replied to Big Dog222's topic in Living Off The Land & Game Cooking
That seems like some good sensible ideas there, I thought it maybe the bucks were the problem but never thought on the age of the does. I am always careful when cleaning out, like deer. Sometimes the blader has burst, if I gut shoot them I dont eat them maybe the hing leg. Thanks guys -
Hi guys. I like to eat as much of the stuff is shoot aas I can. Rabbit is great but I often find a strong flavour coming from it, not a nice taste at all. Do aby of you find this and if so what is it??? Is it something that can be sorted?? Is it something to do with breeding that tents the meat??? Thanks

Thanks for the support guys. I live in N. Ireland. I have just found out that 19 sex offenders are living in the local area. Guess what, yip your right, no one will say where they live. My son is ok thanks for your concerns. He just walked away and told his mum. Sadly he never thought to use the camara he was carrying. The guy drove a silver vaxhall ??? Vector. I also forgot to say there is a primary school across from my house, just a short distance from where this jerk was playing with himself. I also think like most of you that the law is sad. I touch him I go to jail, he ge

Even though I live in the countryside yesterday my 11 year old son walked 100yrds down the road to photo an old historical building for his homework. Some jerk stopped his car, got out, dropped his pants and start jerking himself of at my son. He just walked away. If only I could get my hands on him. Police involved but will never get him. Just wanted to blow of some steam

I worked with one a friend had over 30 years ago. He looked class and was 200% on a fox. Sadly he was the only one and although he sired many other bread, there were no other Welsh. I hope you find some and take the breed fwd.

I love hunting rats with dogs it is the best. If I had the choice of a dirty weekend with the wife or a weekend ratting, it would be ratting every time; manybe thats because I am 52 almost Honestly, I have always felt like that, obsessed about rat hunting when I was young. So good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks guys for the supportive words. Her father (Pat') is a really tough dog. Her mum (PJRT) is a fox dog a bay terrier if you know what I mean. Thanks for the tips on tracking. I will keep her profile updated as she grows. It a while since I have had a hunting dog so I am really excited, I guess that is clear to see

After killing this fox tail it took it to bed for a sleep. I hope these come through. Final comment. Often on forums you see photos of dogs or pups and they are really bad shots. Now I know why, getting a Patterdalex Parson JRT to stand still for a photo shot is like finding teeth in a hen I am really looking forwards to seeing how she turns out. What I liked about this pup was it build, colour, it has a great nose and sniffing all the time when its not hanging on my trouser leg, or killing the fox tail. I wanted a dog that would track a wee bit and I think she has the no
