is that fish dead russ its eye dont look clear? if your ponds deep enough they wont come to any harm do you salt them up before the winter sets in, i got rid of mine 18mth ago mine was just under 6000 gallon and it was heated in the winter it was covered by a frame then covered with bubble wrap even in the winter you'll be surprised how much difference this makes might save you losing a few fish albert
