  4. i think there was a post about levi not so long ago about him not working his terriers for the last so many years,the border bitch i had was purchase of a man who got two dogs of levi oaks 20 yrs ago so i dont know what would still be in the strain after so long, however the bitch died when she was 2yr old just as she was coming along really well you should be able to pull the post up.

  8. sometimes they just split especially if the dog sees a lot of road work in the past when my lurcher has done it a few wks and as right as rain just keep an eye on it and make sure it stays clean.

  10. Marco Cheers. I'm new to this site and did not realise the pictures were removed. That's a beautiful little dog. They are the breed for me although a lot of members don't appear to have high opinion of them. I've a border who is now 11 years old so is living the quiet life now. Never let me down in the past though. I maintain that as an all round dog i.e. worker and pet, because let's face it when they are not working a pet is what all dogs are, the Border cannot be beaten. Yes, its called a BRAIN! quote very good lmao some dogs obviously take longer than others and i always say perseverance is the key however the dog still has to have something about it to have a go 14mths is to some people a bit young some start them on fox in there second season when they have other quarry under there belt so you have plenty of time yet dont rush it.

  15. they are old posts the pics get removed after a while look at the dates any way here is a pic when i got her and one that is upto date.
  16. yep all fairly normal dont worry too much and dont forget no peeking at the kits for a few wks or she may eat them.
  17. i start early and finish usually between 2-3 incase of the ferret lying up and you have to wait or dig for it and then it starts getting dark.
  18. just offer to give him a hand if any jobs need doing,also you will keep an eye out for people not allowed on the farm but most importantly you will respect and cherish his land well done mate.

  21. you will be suprised how fast a young dog heals just keep an eye on her for a wk or two on the lead you will soon notice if something isnt right she will limp for a few days if she is pulling on the lead after a few days she will be all right dont molly coddle the pup to much she will have to get used to a few knocks just keep an eye on the leg as said for any swelling just keep her in for a few days she will be as right as rain.
