  1. We used to get a lot of young birds flying into our windows, what we did (and over the last year or so has seemed to work) was stick up a piece of paper in the middle of the window. Also, you can cut the paper into shapes so long as there is still enough paper there for a bird to notice it doesn't really matter. atvb.
  2. That would ruin the soil ... why not ? (petrol and a supersoaker
  3. So it makes the rabbits inedible to humans? What about birds and foxes? And what if something did eat an infected rabbit?
  4. You can get insurance with the countryside alliance for free if you under19 atb bedrock No it doesn't...?
  5. No I haven't tried lightning a featherstick yet; nor have I even attempted at making one I can't really though: as I am yet to go hunting my parents refuse to let me get a proper knife (only have a penknife which can do nout ) was hoping to get this but to no avail. And the little garden type axe we have is blunt and I have had very little need of it so my technique would be very poor even with a sharp one.
  6. Definitely wrong: he was protecting his livelihood and it is, as stated, his right to do so. Yes; he should have killed not wounded but what can you do? If you don't get a perfect shot it's a shame but at hey ho.
  7. Google maps Type in "Queen Victoria St, Blackburn, Lancashire BB2, United Kingdom" Good luck
  8. Finally my firesteel and maya dust and sticks arrived in the post (got as a group off ebay)! Tis awesome - the firesteel not the maya stuff -, but couldn't light paper or the maya dust, so resorted to some cotton wool and once lit used the maya as fuel. Very happy

    EBAY

Usually if the item's RRP is that high the price will go shoooooting up in the last day and last hour especially. However if you get it for less than their emailed price you have won it for the price you bid and if they back out of it you can report them to ebay and they will get a strike for their stupidity. Either you get it for a lower price or they get done. But if I were you I wouldn't keep my hopes up of getting it; have a look around for other prams and find some promising things but refrain from getting them until the other pram's auction finishes and you don't get it for whatever
  10. Meh. I'm constantly wishing my family had emigrated to Australia...but I would prefer New Zealand . Thanks for the advice guys, I recently had a look round what shall be my first potential shoot: the owner is currently trying to sell it, plenty of rabbits, no footpaths, very little use but a good reason to cull the rabbits (plenty of crop fields around). But I'm going on a week long school trip next week (woodlands if anyone has heard of it) so I'm going to give the owner a letter when I get back, then try to have a chat and be very persuasive Thank Pandora for Hope Edit: I don
  11. I am going to..."I was just wondering" after all just for when I try out 'wild' camping ... but p'raps I'll just bring a few tins of baked beans
  12. But what would the sentence/fine be for poaching a couple rabbits (a well known pest that (I would expect) most landowners would detest)?
  13. There's antis and there;s fockin' weirdos ... and they fall into the second category without doubt. Kerrrazy!!
  14. Hi, I was just wondering if there were any laws regarding snaring on land that you don't have permission to do so: I know carrying an air rifle whilst trespassing is £3000 fine/3 months behind bars, and that general trespassing either results in a £50 or so fine or a "Geroff me land!!" sort of thing, but I've heard nothing about snaring. By the way this is just out of interest: I'm not getting ideas
  15. I was thinking for camping purposes and the like, how do you cook a rabbit with an open fire with minimal equipment (pots and pans)? 'Cause the best I can think of at the moment is once I've gutted and separated the parts I want to cook leave them in their bits of skin and pull out some hot embers from the fire and cook it in that, regularly turning over and refreshing the embers. Would that work? Anyway, I don't suppose anyone could talk me through cooking rabbit on an open fire or link me to somewhere, thanks.
  16. Dang! For a mere tenner I don't see why not; just eat it as late as they let you (probably elevenish) and have it as a BIG, late breakfast and a BIG early lunch But yeah. I don't stand a chance, but the bringing in a few mates to help you and share the price is a great idea.
  17. Hi, I'm fourteen and recently persuaded my parents to let me get an air rifle (about two months ago), thing is though, my family aren't antis as such but they have never hunted ... so I have no permissions. In your experiences, would farmers actually let a fourteen year old be the shooter? 'Cause lawfully I would need my dad to come with me whilst shooting but I really doubt I could get him to do the talking... And yeah, I've read quite a lot about getting permissions, shooting rabbits and the like, but at the moment I don't know anyone who owns land and my main hope is to tag along w
  18. A new knife for skinning and the like? A firesteel? I'm not very good with gift ideas
  19. Yeah that's definitely a frog: common frog
  20. Bloody hell!! That is great (both the live trap and the 'Japanese mouse trap'). It's much more humane than other traps and just as effective so why has it been turned down? Anyway, I want one!
  21. Hey, I've recently taken up shooting with an air rifle (got meself a BSA Lightning second hand and a 3-9x50 AGS scope), I am yet to shoot anything live but I have been doing a lot of paper punching. I have interests such as snaring (yet to do that as well ), camping, and just general things. I suck at these introductions thing so hey ho
