  1. Yep, agree entirely. If you shoot and run dogs, buy a scope mounted version, you can use them hand held as they are Been doing that for years.
  2. Plenty of rain came with that wind, but it's drying now and still got the wind.
  3. If your weather is coming from where I am, get ready for the night. Blowing a gale here this morning.
  4. 'Bless me Father, for I have sinned. I have been with a loose girl'. The priest asks, 'Is that you, little Joey Pagano ?' 'Yes, Father, it is.' 'And who was the girl you were with?' 'I can't tell you, Father. I don't want to ruin her reputation'. "Well, Joey, I'm sure to find out her name sooner or later so you may as well tell me now. Was it Tina Minetti?' 'I cannot say.' 'Was it Teresa Mazzarelli?' 'I'll never tell.' 'Was it Nina Capelli?' 'I'm sorry, but I cannot name her.' 'Was it Cathy Piriano?' 'My lips are sealed.' 'Was it Rosa

  6. I'm not familiar with that model rifle, is it semi automatic or bolt action? 3" @ 70 yards, something is wrong there Try as many different brands of ammo you can. Check your mounts and that every thing that's supposed to be tight is tight. Check the crown. Try a mates scope on your rifle if you can.
  7. I know, even on busier forums for this type of technology things don't exactly go a mile a minute. But, tucked away as a subsection is this section suffering? Should it not be reincorporated into the optics forum where NV info and topics would be seen by a wider audience? Just a thought. ATB, John
  8. Seems to be back again, Sean must've rescinded his ban on Autumn
  9. Has Sean cancelled Autumn then?
  10. Sorry Kay, I should have phrased it better. I have the option, and I have it selected, but, there is no green background with leaves on it, just black.
  11. Well I think it's a skin. What ever the green background with the leaves on it is called. Mines gone AWOL
  12. One day where it benefitted me to stand behind the door.
  13. Do you mean this here popgun? People have asked good questions and made good suggestions. For shooting powder burners start with .22lr, why? Because they're cheap, so the learning curve is inexpensive. The loopy trajectory forces you to think and learn to compensate, and you get to play with all our favourite factor, the wind. By the by, Savage do a HMR with the exact same stock. Boyds make it as far as I know. But the best question is, what do you want to shoot with your new gun?
  14. Zeroed for 200 yards Clive, can't remember the drop in numbers but I know where to aim between marks on the NF reticle
  15. It's rag the mod hour
  16. Start of a two hour programme, there is to be a segment on hare coursing some lads might be interested in. I don't know when in the programme it's to be on but it was listed at the beginning.
  17. It's how one needs to shoot in a recession Stubby
  18. I had an hour or so out with my mate John this evening for greycrow fodder, read hapless bunnies who crossed our paths. He'd the .22lr and I brought the .223, just because... On our way to bunny land we see five greycrows on a power line. He jokes about lining three of them up with the .223, no backstop, no thanks But it set a trend Then he spots one greycrow walking about in the field under the power line, that's more temptation than I can resist. One of the greycrows on the power line flies down to join his mate in the field. "I bet you can't get them both with one shot", he
  19. No, the neighbours aren't off the protected species list yet
  20. Soldering isn't hard to do. Before you solder any lamp wires, practice on waste wire and get your technique right.
