  1. had my 6 month lurcher pup on a complete puppy meal,but now its due to go onto 2 feeds a day,im thinking of trying it on a raw natural diet hopefully for the good of the pup as this diet seems to be good for a working dog.my normal feeding plan consists of a mix of dry meal with raw meat anyway,but if im doing away with the meal i want to be sure im still feeding a balanced diet with the pup not missing out on importent vitimans ect,so......if im feeding rabbit skinned and gutted,lamb neck bones,minced tripe,beef ect,oily fish and the odd raw egg with shells,does anybody think it will still ne

  4. went to take a couple of skinned rabbits from the dogs chest freezer tonight and its been accidently turned off at the socket so ive got a feezer full of defrosted meat like rabbit,lamb neck bones and minced tripe,can anybody tell me if i should bin it or will it be ok to freeze again bearing in mind none of its for human consumpion,cheers in advance for any advice people.
  5. its a bit easy to steroetype here just because this lad,s by all acounts is a junkie,(have no time for them either)but it could,ve been a young lad delivering papers just the same,if this was the case would he to be scum for hitting a dog riding his cycle its unforunate as whats happened here and i feel for the dog but im going along with molly on this
  6. cracking ground youve got there chester for your dogs,where in bonny scotland are you mate north,south ect,work my dogs on similar hills,had some great sport on the high ground down the years,some fond memories of some good days on this terrain,good test for the dogs
  7. well done lads,some superb picts there and a good day out aswell by the looks of it.ferrets and dogs under a big sky,it takes some beating but with two handy looking whippets there, why so much netting,them wee crackers would,ve missed many i would,nt have thought ?

  9. frank,i know what you mean about your corcerns about bolting rabbits,but when the ferrets are down get her leashed or restrained,better taking her on short trips at first,as she gets older and settles more take her on the longer days aswell,a good ferreting dog is worth its weight in gold,but to get to this standard its got a lot to learn.its not just a point and slip dog bud,respect for nets,marking occupied burries but to name a few skills she will need to have,her breeding will look after catching abilites,but she needs more strings to her bow than that to make a decent ferreting dog.say a
  10. frank,are you taking out your whippet pup with you bud to see what its all about,if not you should,as it would do her the world of good.if i remember right you got her for the ferreting and since this will be her bread and butter get her exposed to sights,smells and sounds of a morning ferreting proberly better on a milder morning mind as they wee whippets feel the cold,bless
