Don’t disagree with that mate, can they be trusted to follow through on the promise though ? Also, is there enough “noise” being made that would make the wider public put PR to the front of their mind and actually think it’s a good enough idea to vote for ? You know and I know that it’s all about “power” for the main party’s and they will cook the books anyway they can to make them the winners. Voting for any party except “them” and destabilising their power base may also be another way ?
-
Been the same 2 party’s for 70 years mate. If every time I invited you round my house you punched me in the face, I’m sure it wouldn’t take me 70 years to figure out I better stop inviting you ! Lol

Don’t know, the first step would be to vote for anyone but them and then see who emerges maybe ?

There’s a vacuum at the minute left by Farage imho, he obviously has zero interest in taking anything else forward. But there is room I believe for a young, intelligent person to speak for Britain and for its people and actually start to call out the madness that nearly has the gaff dead. We need a Jonny Mercer or Zac Goldsmith or a Tim Collins type to start that ball rolling.
-
True, what I think the biggest mistake would be now is for the British public to sit back on its laurels and think “job done”.......job ain’t don’t by a long stretch imho mate. Next step is to start voting for politicians that actually care about Britain and its people, and that ain’t any of the major party’s in Westminster at the moment. Brexit was only a very small first hurdle in changing your outcomes imho

On the subject of Northern Ireland and Brexit. I'm still waiting to see if it was the stupidest idea ever by the British government or the cleverest ? Maybe they are forcing the EUs hand, after all, it’s them wanted the border but didn’t want to admit it. If we take a lax attitude to NI ports then the EU will either have to swallow it or insist the Irish government put up a border in its own country !! The mask already slipped with article 16 which was quickly retracted. The UK forcing the EU to show it’s true colours or a bunch of total arseholes that made an incredibly

Those generation of men, their values and their history and everything they thought they fought for never figured in the future plans of British governments mate.

Here is the reality of Brexit......we are 3 months into having to do things differently than we have the last 50 years ! Did anyone seriously think it would be roses on day 1 ? The U.K. is disentangling itself from a set of rules that govern absolutely everything that is has been working with for half a century, it is having to establish a completely new way of trading and it is having to do it with the EU throwing every obstacle that it can in the way. Lets not forget, politically, the Eu can’t let the U.K. be seen to “win”......leaving the block must be a failure at all co

Haha, how many had that conversation in households across the land mate. I don’t want to get too soppy about it but I just felt a great sadness that a very public face of a generation of men, all that was good about us, passed away and in doing so took some of the last of what remains of Great Britain with him. I was sat with my 2 girls last night (17 & 18) watching the opening beach landing scene of “Saving Private Ryan” and said to them “Them lads were your age, your grandad & your great grandad did that!” They were very moved by that, and we spoke about how you g

The voice of ireland speaks ! ...... I suppose if he blew toddlers to bits in shopping centres he’d be a legend you total prick ?
-
Yeah, totally agree, we should be importing more white Germans and a lot less oddments ?

Much to my total incomprehension my boy has got right into basket ball in the last 12 months.....don’t ask because I don’t know ! But, eager to be the supportive dad I try and show a bit of interest and maybe use some thing from that for him to relate into proper sports ! See, I just don’t understand what relevance basketball has to anyone in Europe ?.......it’s a typically American thing where they take a good game like Netball and then tweak it so that it’s much easier and everyone scores about a 100 points ! So, why a basketball player becomes some sort of cultural icon

I have to say, compared to most DNA results that I see, mine was very, very localised.

Not trying to over complicate things at all mate. My point is, the British have always been there......since time in memorial. Very early in it wasn’t a one way street, you raided us and we raided you (hence your patron saint being British) ........then it was Danes, Celts, Norman’s (hence the name Fitz...... anything) We are all part of the British Isles, we have been going backwards and forwards forever.
-
“You” invited an aggressive force of Anglo Norman’s, so that one king could f**k over the king next door.......just like every other country in the history of the world. You raided us, we raided you.....blah blah blah Thats the facts !.......then along come a load of Marxists at a time when a big imperial power is weak and see and opportunity to establish a Marxist communist state right on their door step. You want facts, there’s your facts ! Nothing different to any geo political situation anywhere in the world .
-
I know mate, I just mean in the geo political sense. I can’t help sometimes but think that the “myth” of Irish v England has taken on a life of its own completely irrelevant of the facts. History starts where the narrative starts and everything that went before is forgotten.
-
What I always wonder is, what is the cut off date for “English oppression” in Ireland ? Because the reality of the story of Ireland is that it is no different to the story of Europe. Invasions, land grabs, alliances, doubles crosses, raiding parties....there’s absolutely nothing special about the history of Ireland in relation to its bigger brother next door. From Norse to Normans, old kings, provincial kings, high kings, lords, barons.....nothing has happened in Ireland that hasn’t happened everywhere else. The Normans were invited by Irish kings because they wanted to nic
-
To be fair, that is completely meaningless in relation to Ireland. The whole conflict between Ireland and England is the result of nothing more than a divorce ! It really is a stupid as that......one divorce and everything else grew from that. Prior to the Tudors there wasn’t a problem.....
-
To be fair, I sat amazed the last 4 and a half years at the rhetoric coming out of Dublin......I was also more amazed that Dublin didn’t consider the UK and Ireland’s unique trading position. I think they seriously thought that being in the EU they had no need of a trading relationship with the UK, I think that was a mistake.......they should have pushed for something bespoke and special for Ireland.

There’s the crucial word mate, civil, and you are ?

Stop end was complaining about being stopped at gunpoint at checkpoints and ordered out of the car by security forces.......happened to me loads of times in London mate
-
Where abouts in Colchester borough are you going mate ?
-
Mate, nice try, but this is the reason. You can’t have sensible conversations, always some prick with Clannad on repeat in his head talking out of his arse. But, the fact is, you will never have a United ireland all the time patriots still exist in the north......they are going nowhere ?
-
I could say exactly the same !......happened to me loads of times in London. So what ?
