Good post mate, we used to drive stubbles and run the dogs off the back of a pick up at one of my pals areas. You could cover a big area in the night, get upto groups of animals and keep up with the chase. Sometimes you’d jump off and walk in, other times you stay on the truck and hang on for your life. All absolutely brilliant fun.

Mate, with the greatest of respect hunting with dogs is illegal…..it’s already on top ! Operation Gallilieo has hundreds of thousands of pounds devoted to it every year. It can’t get much more on top ! Lol

Is everyone mentally I’ll or what ? Nobody is justifying anything. Its not a piss up the wall contest every time we talk about dogs. I believe other dogs can do what mine couldn’t , just because I ain’t never seen it don’t make it not true. Lads methods have absolutely no correlation to the standard of their dogs, but mutts getting chucked at stuff regular and winning will always be preferable to the once a week ferreted ! I don’t own a lurcher anymore and I certainly never owned one that was any good. I have seen two what I’d call good lurchers ever and one of them certainly was out 5 nights a week for long stretches of the season and killing gear every time it was. That dog killed over 600 deer in its lifetime and it’s mother did similar.

I don’t know if you are trying to be deliberately f***ing stupid or on the wind up. But, let me humour you….. Theres two dogs of exactly the same type. One belongs to Mr Tidy Clean gentleman hunter. He is out 3 nights a week, walks the land alone , kills a couple of foxes every week, few rabbits and maybe the odd Deer. The other is owned by some absolute scumbag off the plot, don’t give a toss, out 5 or 6 nights a week causing chaos but his dog is killing 10 or 15 foxes a week, couple of deer, few pigs and if they don’t he shoots it. Which one of those two blokes

Who cares if it’s about hunting or sport, there’s all sorts of lads doing it all sorts of ways. The one’s going at it without a single f**k given and getting gear killed are the ones producing the blood of tomorrow and that isn’t a fantasy !

The best place I ever ran was a place my mate had permission, the bloke had ex-Gurkhas as his personal security. We could run whatever we wanted day time, place was lifting with fallow. They even used to give us a buggy to go out in ! Lol If we see a nosey Parker dog walker, we just drive back, tell the Gurkhas, they would go down and f**k them off and on we would crack ! Amazing stuff

Exactly right mate, most folks will leave you alone. The farm them keepers were on that I used to shoot over, I can almost guarantee that gear only got nicked because they were such pricks to everyone, waving rifles about and giving it large about shooting dogs. The more of a prick they were, the more the lads tormented them ?…..you know the score.

I don’t take any notice of all this “p***y scum” talk myself, it’s all bollocks. I very much doubt anyone writing it would have the character to walk into a site and ask for the governor and talk like a proper gentleman to another man over a grievance. Just ignore it.

I know the feeling mate. I have no issue with what a bloke does with his dog but faffing about well within the rules having a couple of runs a night won’t weed out the very best animals from the ordinary, it just won’t……I know I don’t need to tell you that anyway. Lads still at it hard in whatever way they go about it is the lifeline of decent dogs. Also, that also means being mobile, you couldn’t walk enough ground sometimes to get dogs enough graft, you have to be in a motor.

One thing I will add is this, without lads willing to go out and absolutely work dogs to their limit we would all be walking round with absolute shit at the end of a lead…..don’t knock lads for kicking the arse out of it, they may be the sire to your dog of a lifetime

If farmers could let lads out with permission in the daytime then it would cut the problems in half, but they can’t. Criminalising the farmer as well as the activity has seen to that. I used to lamp and shoot over a couple of local places. One was a farm that had a shoot on there, with keepers who were fairly aggressive in their anti dog stance. On that one I could only shoot pigeons or have a dig at problem stuff……running dogs not tolerated. They got absolutely tortured with the local travelling boys driving the land and they lost about £250,000 worth of farm equipmen

Dealing with your own shit and importing extra shit in are two completely different things imho. I’m not a fan of muddying the waters with all this “Well, what about us” type talk…..whatever we are upto, we belong here and they f***ing don’t.
