  1. Cheers mate, coz its out of hicklings wheaten they should make strong lurchers, will pm you about going out!,but might have to leave it for a week or so. Just let me know when mate anytime is fine for me im out most nights and days anyway cheers witton
  2. I would of thought a stag/greyhound would have better skin than most lurchers. I suppose its one of those things you have to put up with. If you prefer to run rough/broken coated dogs then its less of an issue but if you want light racy whippet crosses then its something you have to live with. Its horses for courses i suppose. Witton
  3. Arron, i know some paddocks that always provide a couple of squatters Chester she is out of a first cross saluki/grey bitch put to a racing whippet Hunterside, Let me know when your up for a look out looking forward to it mate. Cheers witton
  4. Tomo one thing mate if your reading let me know when you want your battery and carry case and that lamp you droped off last season tryed sending you a pm but it wont send for some reason. Cheers witton

  7. Went out last night for an hour or so local, had a couple of runs caught 4 rabbits and a rat lol. She actually had 5 but with her being so soft mouthed she drops alot and one kicked out of her mouth and got into some brambles. Never mind 4 was plenty. Got a nice curry out of it and still had 1 for the eagle owl and a couple for the dogs. She was running best towards the end of the night, Pulled up twice for some reason after a couple of runs then after that she was bang on. Cheers witton
  8. ditto Took this from a site Description By appearance the Scottish wildcat resembles a very muscular domestic tabby, the coat is made up of well defined brown and black stripes and usually has a ruffled appearance due to it's thickness. The gait is more like that of a big cat and the face and jaw are wider and more heavy set than the domestic. Most apparent is the beautiful tail; thick and ringed with perfect bands of black and brown ending in a blunt black tip. The Scottish form is the largest in the wildcat family with males typically between 6-9kg (13-17lb) and females 5-7kg (11-15lb)
  9. What a load of bollox, And a waste of time and money they didnt even catch anyone Some one has been lamping out of a sub round my way after the fallow, Took out 2 gates. Its a shame all it does is hots it up for everyone else. I dont leave any trace that iv been there. Im thankfull for the sport, and feel that the least i can do is leave the land the way i found it. 12. I don't care if it means i'm not a real dog man, if it was me and i had kids that dog would have a bullet in between its eyes. My kids wellbeing and lives would allways come first. Where there are kids and dogs there must be control, if the dog is unpredictable then i wouldn't take the risk. Your not allways going to be there. witton
  13. Whats the breeding of the dog mate? Looks a nice type Good look getting the toe sorted. Witton

  16. Looks a cracker mate, nice one witton
  17. Good luck mate, I wouldn't get my hopes up much fella. I would be very surprised if he made a full recovery, you never know tho some dogs surprise you. Thats a very good point tho about a normal vet saying the dog will be fine, to them a full recovery is being able to walk with out and discomfort. Not being able to run all night on the lamp Just want to hope the vet really does know what he is talking about. Witton
  18. Im having a look on some new land local to me in an hour or so. Ill let you all know how i get on, with pics. Might see nothing might see hundreds Its the beauty of lamping fresh land, never know what your going to find. Anyway im off to get the dog ready. cheer witton
  19. At 8 weeks my pups always get fed 4-5 times a day. Might seem like a lot but thats how we have always done it. Get as much into them as possible keep em healthy and fat, there only pups after all plenty of raw meat and bones with some veg and a variety of rice and pasta mixed in. Also leave them with a constant supply of complete puppy dry food so they can pick at when ever they wish. Well thats how i always do it anyway, each to there own witton
  20. cracking little pup moll all the best witton
  21. Alright mate its the old mans but i enterd her and brought her on, my dad brought her and feeds her but everything else is me I walk them and work them, thats probably why she doesn't retrieve and refuses to jump cant all be perfect She does me anyway might not be upto most peoples standards but im happy saying that she did bring me a squeeler the other night, brought it right to me maybe a sign of things to come now she is matureing?? ill see. 23. went out last night for a look out local had a couple of runs, ended the night with 5 not bad for round here especially with the moon being so big at the moment and last night was very still. She caught her first 2 slips then mist one then caught her next 3. Had a look out over a couple of grass paddocks that i haven't checked out yet this year and it looks promising plenty of rabbits to be run Had a good bit of sport last night taking rabbits out of the potato fields for such a lightly built racy bitch she can take some stick running on fresh plow and bouncing across the potato furrows.
