  1. How did your bitch lame herself mate? Being so young there's every chance that her injury will heal, she does have time on her side,if she is totally fecked then whether you breed her now or in five years she'll still of done nothing so perhaps waiting until atleast she's out of puppyhood herself would be a better idea? Hope the bitch makes a full recovery
  2. Nice dog in good nick ,is he just a one trick pony if you get my drift?

  5. As.i always knew those fen hares were piss easy ..if a lurcher not bred for the fens took 4/5 then that says it all we wont go into that.... for a dog to do it week in week out they have to be bred for the big land i had a good day ...the dog was very fit it was december but to be honest he struggled like fook in jan feb ......be he did well for how the mutt is bred...which is for the game on the smaller land local to me.... I was only taking the michael mate,it's teriffic going for any lurcher .All the best PP.

  8. No disrespect to you Bird ,but thats what i said earlier..have the men/woman who keep lurchers today got the drive, desire, want, need to push their dog to catch a ton? I'm not so sure? I'm like yourself nowadays,a nice few bunnies and i'm happy but back 20+ years ago it seemed the norm to try for such feats and i was no different
  9. Sorry, i'm late getting back to you LL ,i've spoke to my father and like you say eating LARGE meals can set off angina,he eats little and often but is exactly the same if eating a large meal, fingers crossed you have the the "stable" version ,it may take weeks, months or even longer to get you on the correct medication that suits YOU,my old man took years to get right, hope yours goes much smoother.Take care. All the best PP.
  10. Tomo,as well as that is there the type of people owning lurchers this day & age who would be commited to trying for such a number even if the dog was capable?
  11. That was the reason i first asked the question SBBR ,it was BIG news back then, would be nice to know if there was any truth in it? I have spoken to Tommy in the past (around that time) albeit by telephone about some pups he had and he did tell me back then that he did do it on more than one occasion, whether he was truthful or not i don't really know but he seemed a decent fella so i have no real reason to disbelieve him. .All the best PP.

  17. Just thinking back to many moons ago ,i can remember a copy of the then Shooting News with an article about Tommy Mcphee and his dog which was basically Whippet/Grey catching 120+ rabbits running solo up at Caithness on the lamp,if i remember correctly there was a picture on the cover if it wasn't the rabbits he also supposedly took 23 hares solo with the same dog and it may of been that which was on the cover? Any truth in him doing the feat then folks?

    Absolutely spot on
  20. What does that prove? Looks like another interesting topic going off track? What does that prove???? I'll tell you what it proves, 'Mark' came on these sites saying his 8 or 9 month old pup was destroying everything it raced all over the country including all the best dogs around...................thats not entirely true is it, cos he forgot to tell us about a member off here who's dog gave him a spanking, now he's had the same happen again the other week, he got spanked in the lamping comp and he knows he was lucky to make it out the first heat, running at 1000s of rabbits....
  21. Sorry to hear this,i hope your feeling much better now? Can't say your overweight can they? Your cholestrol is high, the Dr will have you on tablets to reduce that along with a change in your diet to get it down below 5,my father had a heart bypass 12 years ago and before that his cholestrol was over 14! The Gtn spray is good,my advice would be although i'm not a Dr but it's what they told my old man was if your ever going to do something strenuous then take the Gtn BEFORE you do it.I'm sure the treadmill test won't be a problem what with looking after a pack of dogs like you have lol.
