Exactly what i was thinking Asanley ..NO it ain't going to be a Fenland dog or pull big Red's but perhaps for a wee bit of ferreting and daytime mooching and perhaps a bit of lamping on the bunnies it may well serve a purpose? Not everyone's cup of tea but then again NOT everyone is feeding,excercising and cleaning up after it so i say like Asanley and Simmo give it a chance before you kick it into the gutter. ATB Andy.

With the right to roam up in Scotland,how does that work when it comes to poaching land etc? My mates got fined down here in England for going equipped to poach because they had a lamp,battery and a sack lol. ATB Andy.

Yeah,spot on Giro...like you say sometimes it just ain't meant to be..i've owned two in the past one which i took in after a lad had topped himself and not because the dog was a jacker! ..and more sickening was one i bred and reared from a pup..it had it all,wind,speed the whole shebang but it just didn't have the same desire for the game as me..well not always lol..he just done it as and when he wanted...when he went he was a machine so off to pastures new he went and nigh on 13 years later is still living life on the couch..he's done a bit here and there and the lad even bred a litter of pup

Thanks Ray...oh for sure they all don't make the grade matey..i've had my "duffers" lol and their siblings have been top drawer ...no guarantees or certainties in this game but i am as confident as can be with proper handling and the correct workload this dog will be still going strong for a while yet lol..i agree with you Mackay on your spewing/refusing points of view...another reason i don't put the gun to the head of my dogs when it comes to workload until i see fit...can't see the point of entering a dog too young..i've done it in my youth but learned the hard way..now a little older well

Just to reply to what Bird and Toby and also Mackay mentioned about a dog running for several good seasons before mateing bitches which is a very fair point BUT i'm pretty confident this dog Don will run and keep on running lol..his sire Jack was running at the top of his game at 10..Nighttimenellie,Dodger and others witnessed it countless times..Jack's sire Bulpa killed more in one blackweek at the age of ten then many dogs would catch in a whole season..i ain't being big-headed or i hope i don't come across that way when i say that but telling porkies ain't my style..these dogs have longevit

That dog was a proper dog mate..NEVER lame bar for an odd knock but never held up in his work due to lameness and believe me he never sat in his kennel all his life ..a big miss he is to me..best buddies we were .ATB Andy.

Here's Kes's dam..she was called Tess..a Collie/Grey Bedlington/Grey x Grey bred by a long departed friend called Geordie Brown..her dam was called Lady and her sire was a track Greyhound called Stroller who held the clock at the Lonsdale Stadium in Workington back in 1978? This is Lads dam here the little black bitch Kes...she was bred out of Bulpa who is the red dog beside her..great days from 20 odd year ago ..Bulpa is also Don's grandsire as he was father to Don's sire Jack...oh and both these dogs were bred in your dog Byker as Kes was also dam to Cora the dam of Jack . The dog on the right is Lad his brother on the left was killed running a hare not long after this...Lad is Jess's dam so therefore grandsire to your pup. ATB Andy...oh and thats Ginny Spinner as a nipper haha.

Mackay..i own the Don dog and i don't give a hoot what ANYONE thinks about how/why and what i do with him? He is MINE..he runs for me and my lads..there hasn't been ANY pups put up for sale on here out of him,they are ALL in working homes...so exactly what is the problem that boils YOUR piss? Like i said on another thread...it's all about opinions and as that saying goes"opinions are like arseholes in that we all have one"...ATB Andy.
