Maize is ideal, if thereare a lot of pheasants in the area its agood idea to place the trap up a tree, cut a piece of board the same size as the floor of the cage and wire it onto the bottom of the trap a bird feeder will also do, just holds the bait, knock a couple of nails into the tree and simply hook the trap onto nails. Pre bait for a few days will get the using the trap.... 6pointer

Even if hes a good mate get him to sign a disclaimer,he will know the chance he is taking, but god forbid in the event of an accident his dependents might not..... you could end up in piles of brown stuff... As sugested get him round and show him the ropes.. 6pointer

I would say yes , but it depends on how Anal you get about reloading, its a bit like fishing there is ALWAYS another bit of kit you can add to your set up.... Unless you dive straight in for an electronic dispencer/scale which would use up a large chunk of your buget you will easily get all you need to start reloading with good quality gear for under £500.. hope this helps 6pointer not too anal, incase she trys to return the gesture. i just want to get a decent set-up thats good quality and reliable. i'm not really into tech, tested and proven are the best way in most

2.5mm Galvanised wire for tealers
6pointer replied to tony d's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Farm dumps are always a good place to find old SOFT wire, does'nt matter if its rusty as it better camo, not to rusty though, as long as its pliable without breaking.... 6pointer -
I have a boot polish tin filled with lead and a hook in the middle for the snare eye,no idea how old it is or how many snares it has twisted up,but very quick and afective.... 6pointer

Its a hen pheasant, she went in 2 or 3 times when the trap was on the ground, so put it up the tree and in she went again, would have been interesting to see how she managed to get in as thier not the most agile of birds -
A good haul of greys, but not much room in the freezer Also a couple of non target speicies, only one was released unharmed, guess which 6 pointer

Martin,im a big Swaro fan and have a couple, the Glass in the IOR is very good, mabey not just as sharp as the Swaro but certainly not a million miles away, construction of the scope is bulky to say the least, turrets are large, but give positive clicks when dialling in and good repeatability. I was lucky enough to buy this scope before the euro price hike, so compared to a nightforce it was a very good buy...imo I use this rifle with a pair of Ziess victory rf bins to range and there is only a couple of minutes difference in in fading light.. 6pointer

Know where your comming from when talking of Perukes, but i said damaged testies can cause hormonal inballance during the growth of the antler leading to Malform. Broken long bones ie leg bones are often- the the cause of a malformed antler on the opposite side of the head to the broken bone,if you know what i mean????? 6 pointer
