Two dogs who regularly run/hunt together, will often play off their different running styles/abilities to make a catch. I.e run clever - one dog turning the quarry back into the other hanging back, or one running wide to bring into back in. Just like other pack hunters would do i.e lion/wolf. Seems like you know your dogs bud.

At times catcher i sometimes think this country would off been better off "Speaking German" better than "URDU" in about a century Cant argue with that bud.

    I very rarely seen a dog turn a hare into a slower dog. Usually because the slower dog just couldn't keep close enough to the action. Where 2 dogs were close to one another they got into each others road more times than not. Unless your poaching, I see no point in running doubled up unless its to teach a pup. Just my opinion so to answer your question, I'd have a faster dog doing all the work everytime Hi bud i did say slitety slower.

    Hi when runing a pair of dogs pre-ban.Witch one do you think had the better strike rate.The faster dog for making its quarry turn.Or the slitely slower one being there as it did so .Would like to here your opinions.atb. Catcher.

    No need.Basics is some thing most learn in the first four month.why go back that far.If you know the problem work on it. The basics are sit,stay,return are these not what he is having problems with?. So we agree.No need to go back to basics if the lads having probs on the whistle.

    Agree lab.If you give the dog a comand like sit/stay down make sure its done.If it take you all day.A lot get it to a stander.Then think thats it job done.Bullshit you have to keep at it for at least four or five years.Some times even longer.If a dog thinks it can take the piss it will.So more training less stress.
