  1. Excellent. Only bettered by Tides Ending by B.B. To read his books was to be there.
  2. Mungler, I'm all for a laugh and in this thread there's an abundance of material to enjoy but reading between the lines I think your summation of this guy's privileged background is way off the mark.
  3. Gotta be one of the best threads currently running on tinternet. People at work looking at me with tears running down my face.
  4. And this is the very real danger of setting up camp where you have not clearly defined ownership. Putting yourself at this risk is one thing, subjecting your family to that risk is another.
  5. Venus trounces all but the moon for brightness. If you have a decent scope look at Jupiter and you will see the moons. A decent pair of 10 x 40 bins will show them fairly well. If you want the best night sky freeware download Stellarium.
  6. In any of those situations using a gun on that land could cost a lot more than being asked to move on.
  7. Then it seems you are trespassing Perhaps more accurately you could be squatting? http://www.cps.gov.uk/legal/s_to_u/trespass_and_nuisance_on_land/#a01
  8. That appears to be your own interpretation of trespass. Are you literally camped on this "right of way"?
  9. Shooting on this land could be considered armed trespass (with a firearm) could it not?
  10. So in the absence of the first point you apply the latter? Would it not have been wise to establish ownership prior to setting up shop?
  11. I didn't know that, thanks for telling us. Great bloke who I was privileged to have met.
  12. I read wild goose man also, brilliant read. I went to Terrington in the 90's and our guide was a bloke named Sid Wright; he had a few stories about Kenzie. He amazed me at how he too could call in the ducks so easily.
  13. Sorry bud I was referring to RW. I see a lot of used panorama's at that price, I don't know what's available under the ton.
  14. You should try reparallaxing that scope if it's blurry at 20m. I have been through a lot of scopes recently and now finally settled on a Hawke Panorama 3-12 x 44 with the MAP6A ret. Quite possibly the best ret out there and as it's so fine it enables very precise shot placement. What's your budget?
  15. That's right usually. Paypal want paying for their "protection" and without it they don't usually involve themselves.
  16. In my experience the gradients on Hawke scopes rarely correlate with the actual distance. Adjusting the focus ring won't change that.
  17. Quite a few on the HFT scene, one on my AA400 although it came like that, I didn't order it. They have a very good reputation and I hear it's worth putting in a best offer. 100% on so many trades I don't think you will be disappointed.
  18. Since January I have been through around 12 rifles (mostly PCP) and that includes Air Arms 400, Ultra's Scorpion, Hammerli and various others. The first one was the R-10 MkII. I entered my first HFT with it and scored a 52 ex 60. It was the most complete rifle I have ever used and regret selling it. I now have an AA 400 and whilst it's superb and I have scored higher scores with it I would give anything to get the r-10 back.
