    no such thing ,every living thing needs different types of food to perform at its best ,what is good for one is not so good for another .

    maybe its because most who own a bull x have the dog for a specific quarry.............and lets be right rabbit is not it! dont get me wrong people will run their bull x on rabbit but its not what they got it for is it?, if they where bothered about big bags of rabbits or hare im sure they would go for a dog better suited for the job, dont get me wrong a good bull x will catch maybe every running quarry available it wont excell in everything simply because i believe no dog can!. i dont know about any 1 else but rabbit for me is a quarry for the gun and the odd night for the dog. bull x

    Every one goes on about this X and that X , then why does a dog do this ,and wont do that ,what is the right dog for this job or that job ,plus a hundred other questions ,it seems that no one goes out and learns of some one else any more , just remember if you dont know how to do things , HOW THE HELL DO YOU EXPECT YOUR DOG TO . i have offerd a couple of people off this site a night out to help them ,some have ,but a few others are so paranoid ,they think every one is anti blood sport if they offer help .no wonder some dogs turn out crap .and sold on .

    i have experience with both first x for me. and ive never seen the big deal about a bedlington whippet anyone worked one hard how do they fair in the right hands, BRILLIANT,as some on here can back up this statement. .

    i would use a dog that would make a lot of dogs look stupid , and could keep on running night after night ,season after season never mind how big or SMALL it was , or breed , after all ,its a proper lamper you want ,not a pet

    i would say ,no1 should be STOP BRAGGING YOUR DOG UP AND KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT AND DONT POST PICS ON A OPEN FORUM .

    some advice-take a shovel with you. To over run a dog like that is sheer stupidity. Best case scenario-you carry the dog off the fields. Worst case-you bury the dog. Ive done all the numbers games and lost an exceptional bitch at the end of a grueling nights work. forget the numbers and enjoy the sport. 100 one dog-CANT BE DONE. i can asure u ,i will know when a dog has had enough ,iv seen enough of other peoples dogs die in the field ,because of their stupidity ,so i wont be needing that shovel ,and i agree it CANT BE DONE iv been at this game long enough to know that ,but i will have a

    thanks all for the advise so far and has for the river i fish on are the river wye ,river lugg and river seven when i get chance then your best method and bait is .just fish a 1foot leader and hook ,fixed to a large swivel ,no weight just role a large piece of childs play dough around the swivel ,and use a 1inch piece of luncheon meat on the hook ,keep casting across the river and letting it roll down stream ,but be ready for the take because it is quick and hard ,because the barbal only get one chance or the bait is gone by them ,this realy catches a lot of fish when the river is clear

    get your self out with some one that knows the game ,watch and learn ,then choose your dog to suit your needs ,but most of all remember ,THE MAN WILL MAKE THE DOG ,so it can only turn out ,the way you make it .GOOD OR BAD i used to get out a lot when younger with my mates dogs,had a nuthall terrier about 10 years ago was a pure beast i mainly go out with air rifle but really want to have a good working dog you will only get it by working it hard ,and knowing what your doing .

    what advertising pups for sale ,and having some one turn up to buy one ,sounds normal to me .at least you know what the person looks like . some one your not expecting , someone youv never spoke to turns up for a pup , your right , very normal tomo is probibly well known in some areas ,just like i am ,it dont take a lot of asking to find some one in the dog world especially if they are good at their job .i dont know him but i could turn up at his door just by making enquires .yes normal

    this is where an intelligent dog that is used to working loose will come into its own ,it would already be up on the rabbits before you put the lamp on ,giving it more chance than a dog that only runs of a slip .try and get your dog to do the same ,it might just work in your favour .

    i dont agree either ,and taking them out at a early age will make them a better dog in my eyes .not a yapper .

    i never said it either ,i was just pointing out that the dog would have to be on the go for 3or4 hours ,just trot a dog behind a car and see how long it will last .never mind how fit it was The Stamina card has been brought up a few times in this topic How long would a Lab or a spaniel be on the go for on a grouse moor beating? or a collie working on the dales or fells? The collie that could nt put in a full day EVERY day would nt be around that long. Y.I.S Leeview lee,i work my dog loose ,and it is a hard thing for it to keep up the same pace for 3 or 4 hours ,they just cant do it .
