  7. Well if you plan it right, you should be able to go somewhere were the dogs paws wont get muddy. Depends what you want to get on.... Its a known fact that dark drizzly nights are the best but this guy did ask if it was raining, not drizzling... Go were the fileds have some good bushing areas, you'll find stuff lay up in them if there is game on the area you are going... if there was no game, i wudnt go.. to be quite honest id rather not have your advice at all because everything you write is just snotty, i can tell your one of these internet warriors who come online to just argue fac
  8. will you please stop giving good info out ,otherwise i just might have compotition when the ground is hard ,then i wont get to catch so much stuff .
  9. not me ,the ground will be to soft ,it makes the dog slip and slide ,and it might injure its self . lol.
  10. give it another 5 to 10 years and the lurchers of this country will be the same as the cruffs brigade ,all washed out through being treated with kids gloves .and bred of rubbish .i suppose it all comes down to having you meat in plastic bags .so you dont need to work your dogs ,ONLY ON MUD .
  11. hes a grey hound vet not a lamper or lurcher owner ,a big difference . wrong he deals with some of the top fen dogs running and if he was on fen running a dog i no were my money be and me .my mate CN if he was still at it full time .and lamping is different kettle of fish .
  12. of course they are not indestructible ,but i manage to get by ,and with only one dog at a time
  13. the last part of your staitment ,says it all mate . spot on .
  14. mainly lurcher x lurcher ,but no bull in the blood ,all sorts of ground ,and all sorts of quarry preban ,but mostly on the lamp . i probibly work them a lot more than most ,and i only keep one dog at a time .
  15. thats just it whin ,,all the dogs i have owned and worked from a very young age ,learn NOT TO RUN FLAT OUT ,it realy does make a big difference at the end of the night ,week, or season . .
  16. well you want to get a dog from elsewhere ,because it seems you wont get one to suit from of this site .most of the owners are to frightend to run them unless they are guaranteed all conditions are perfect . no its called having common sense and respect for your dog, if you run the bollocks of them on rock hard ground they aint going to last the season. thats strange ,in 30 odd years every one of mine has ,must say some thing for the type and breed of dog you must keep .

  18. maybe ,just maybe ,the reason i post more than you could have something to do with me being more knowledgeable ,because of the amount i have done with working lurchers ,who knows
  19. hes a grey hound vet not a lamper or lurcher owner ,a big difference . If he did have a dog it would probably be called Carlsberg, Hes a legendary running dog vet my old man was going to him 20yrs ago and sorry n all that but I'd take his advice and experience over yours but you've never had any of your dogs knocked up Y.I.S Leeview correct mate ,i dont wrap them in cotton wool .they do get injuries ,but learn to cope .and im not offering advise ,i am just pointing out what gets me by .and i did not realise your old man was dealing with him ,that does make all the difference .lol. i

  21. one ,its all you need if it is a GOOD one .
  22. i have and always will run on every type of ground and run every thing that my mut wants to have a run on , even if he has no chance of catching it ,it keeps him fit and happy ,after all he is the one that is doing it ,and makes the decision ,i only shine the lamp ,i dont force him by sliping him of a lead .it makes for a very good dog that uses its own brain ,not the brain of the owner .
  23. Fkn hell!!! When you see them like that, they don't even look 6 months. I'm quite sure those pups didn't take those rabbits. If they did, the rabbits were probably dead a few days before ! Cheers. so some one keept them with the guts still in , i think not .plus they have been wet .and it was raining last night, plus he is new to this so i dont think he would know how to gut one .and pups that age are more than capable of catching rabbits .mine do at 4 or 5 months . funny that seen as they only start loosing puppy teeth at 3-4 months lol so there chasing rabbits with ther
