  2. yard could do with a sweep, nice dog too
  3. Me ole pal had his on dead calves and red mills soaked in milk. Personally I'd give them a variety some fish loads of meat like offal and red mills racer or gain. They don't need to be fit till atleast a year old keep them well fed and well walked it will make sure they have good strongjoints etc...
  4. imo calf milk good mixed food and raw meat
  5. I have both, a sal/greyxbull and a saluki x grey they are a pain in the ass the saluki trait but good at their job
  6. Imo if you've never had a lurcher, a saluki x couldbe a bad idea. The saluki is a sulky, head strong, ignorant breed. Don't get me wrong they have their place and do a good job but for a neewbie could either end up with you put off or ruined dog. There is some saluki crosses that are bob on very loyal inteligent and you won't have a problem. A whipxgrey or beddxgrey would be a good starting dog spcially for bunnys and or ferreting dog Atb Scott

slipped my bitch on one and after it was out of wind i slipped the pup in for the easy take, only two slips the other was accidental, he was pulling that hard he snapped the lead but didnt do much there was over 20 in the field so he was stuck for choice

  8. What a wild morning, to say my land was dead last night it defo wasn't this morning. Was only wanting something for the pot, so only two slips and 2 kills good morning plus pup had some good spectating
  9. Aye I've know her since a pup, killed alot of gear with her. She looks like a whippet but salxgrey mainly saluki. Only 22tts. So when we off out on your permission
  10. well i had a walk at last light to see if i could bump into anything and it is wild out!!, every field was empty :s. although there must of been something about, my pup was starting to use his nose and took a line ended up at a hole where he marked then got exited and decided to have a dig. Then walked up a patch of rough ground/moor nothing about. The pup is turning out to be a machine with a flip switch he just doesnt stop until he gets home. its like he is coursing as soon as he is off the lead till back on it the crazy lump. Back out at first light lets hope its a bit more promasing
  11. Well played lad was out my self at last light for a mooch only seen the one, land round me is smashed though, nice bitch too
  12. End of day go by your dog not by what you want
  13. Like jamesmc said try higher ground. Or think alongthe lines of what do you want your dog to do only run in perfect conditions? I used to fell run in storms gales and heat. Thought for you, I'd have them out but run sensible slips
  14. Potassium permanganate in warm water, disenfects very well
  15. Getting good permission is hard to come by. And what makes it 10x more impossible is your initial approach. Everybody has their own way of approaching landowners. Imo rocking up with a team of dogs asking to go rabbiting is wrong and will fail. I have a letter of permission form with all my details, my intentions I.e ferrets gun dog lamp, also my membership detail insurance coverage I.e basc CA etc... I then approach dressed smart cas cleanshaved looking right. Be polite, don't be pushy explain your self bit of banter and hopefully you will get a yes. On some of my permish that looked like a n
  16. Type in the search bar letter of permission its there somewhere
  17. Aye well good on you lad, I'm like you prefer to go out on my todd but if I can help a fresh lad then great. Intact I'm going to take a new lad out next week show him the ropes. Got a good bit of permish. Hopefully bring him on right
  18. I wasn't having a crack, was support. Glad you have taken him under your wing, to many knob heads and not enough good folk about so so where its due respect! Atb scott
  19. glad you had a good day mate, as for land poacher! Takes a long time to build a good rep, seconds to loose. Some people just thrive on causing shit for others. Atb scott
  20. watching a couple of craig nutalls dvds

  21. I boil up rice, ginger garlic, salt oil green veg, carrot fenugreek and coriander or rosmary. Make a big pan then bag it up for freezer abouta cup full to a bag. This is fed with half a cup of dry food red mills and 2 chicken wings. Once a week instead off rice I give a tin of sardines in oil, I sometimes substitute the chick wings and give lambbones or mince beef. Dogs look fit and constantly on the go
  22. I beat the shit out of them broke a few bones and made them appologise to my dog. I'll do time for catching anyone stealing a dog off me
  23. Its all down to you to bringher on when she's much older. Try get hold of a dead un and play with dog, plenty of fuss, when out walking with pup on lead if a rabbit gets up make plenty of fuss, whooshing noises what ever noise you want the dog to associate with something to get on , Atb scott
