    I would strongley advice you to purchase the 3 books by Dr Ian Billinghurst The Barf Diet,Grow Your Pups With Bones and Give Your Dog A Bone. The answers to all your questions are in these books.There is in depth information on what to feed and why.Diets for dogs at all life stages are included.Every aspect of barf feeding is covered. I have just reared a pup as described in the books and it is so simple. Since switching my other dog to barf the dog has performed better even though he is now 7 years old.     I had a dog which started chasing sheep.My freind has some permission on a hill farm who have some very large rams with horns.We took the dog to the farm and with the farmer put the dog in with the ram.This has to be done with strick supervision to prevent the dog being injured.We only put the dog in once and it cured the problem.The dog never looked at sheep again.The dog was stockbroken as a pup but started to chase sheep when lamping.

    I have a 1st cross bedi greyhound which is very obedient but started hunting up when it missed a rabbit in the lamp and went totally deaf to whistle.I saught advice from numerous dog trainers who adviced using an electric collar to break the dogs focus and respond to the whistle.I used the collar as adviced by the trainers and instructions.It resolved the problem and i only had to use the collar twice on one night.The dog stayed sound for roughly 18 months then started hunting up again.I used the collar once which rectified the problem again.The collar was expensive but without it i would not

    i tie a piece of blue nylon string and a piece of yellow nylon string to each trap.the string is the only thing visible and i have had no problems with people removing traps even on recreation grounds.obviously this is not an option when grass is being cut.

    Look to placing baits in areas where no pet access.Behind kitchen unit kick boards bioler rooms airing cupbaords and in particular loft spaces.You can also purchase safe lockable bait stations which are safe for pets and children.All baits are multiple feed piosons and you must keep baiting until there is no further activity.In five years i have never had a problem with smell from dead mice in a domestic premises.     I use an oil filled radiator which is controlled by a seperate thermostat.Had radiator for years and is still like new.

    I had a bitch which had the same injury.I took her to a grey hound vet.Would not remove toe on a front foot. Firstly we tried blistering which is the application of a solution which generates heat and blood flow and possibly tightens up the ligaments.there was no improvement.Next we tried injecting a porcilin solution mixed with blood into the toe which hopefully brings stability to the jiont.Unfortunatly there was no improvement.I know other people though who this has proved to be succesful and resolved the problem.The last resort was rest.     I have also used the resco type for years.Replacement blades are easy to get.I have also a file to tidy up after cutting.Also use trimmex coagulating powder to stop any bleeding.Never seen this until visited greyhound vet.

    I am currently rearing a pup on the complete barf diet and feeding another mature dog on the complete barf diet. Prior to going down this road i purchased 3 books by DR Ian Billinghurst an austalian vet.     i have found that my local vets struggle to find injuries and appropriate treatments. There is a greyhound vet near the east midlands airport who also treats lurchers. I have found him excelent both at finding injuries,treating injuries and practical advice on rehabilitation. His charges are also very reasonable. If you would like his contact details please pm me.
