Is the threat that great that it warrants giving up so many civil liberties ? Wouldnt it be better to look at our foriegn policy to see why all the hostility is coming our way. Recent campaigns have been very un-British.

So assuming they take a pay cut to keep they're jobs, do you think any of the extra profits the oil companies make will be reflected in cheaper fuel for the public ? or is it only ok for the big corporations to demand as much as they can get ?

Ha, just got back from a weekend away, and this is the first thread i see ! The Governmental and judicial system we HAD (past tense) was the best in the world, even the Romans kept our laws in place after they invaded. Lets get back to that fair system, no matter what it takes ! (peaceful, of course)

I think that was me, if i remember right As i said, how they came down is not realy the issue, it's who brought them down. I'm mindful of respecting the memory of those lost, but the questions wont go away.

Yes but in the right way, rioting and violence only leads to more violence. Peaceful non compliance is the way to get some representation and accountabillity back into government. But we better get our skates on.

As usual the media is putting their spin on this, the contractors mentioned use agencies to avoid any permanent workforce who would be eligible for sick pay, holiday pay etc. It says BP has 'around' 300 contractors (is that individuals) so 300 on 35k a year in the whole of the country? I reckon if you spoke to these drivers there wouldnt be many on that wage.
