What you mean a previous life ) He's been a Cnut a his life's then ha ha . Fars doodles ) It means he was a cnut reincarnated Edited to say come on Doodles with the update ho ho ho still night shift still cant sleep pish

some would say keep him at it as familiarity should breed contempt (he'll stop barking when he's had a few), i would get him behind a lure a few times (he's going to catch it every time no frustration), if he barks at that it's maybe more excitement then maybe keeping him going will work, but unfortunately fact is once started it can be a sod to cure and terriers and whippets are both know for it i'm afraid,

get one birddog the one in the link the 1600 lumens the beam covers 2 football pitches i was out with my mate who as a lamp we never used his lamp all night and i got the higher amp batterys and get a good 2/3 hours from two always carry spare in my pocket hope this helps atb troter ta muchly, they sound ideal for a few quieter places that my 210 would kinda standout

what kind of effective range do these things have ? i have something similar on top of an airrifle for shooting feral pigeons in barns and steadings, these sound a wee bit better would maybe be good for me locally
-
crystal clear and frosty here, had to scrape the car this morning, good old scottish weather eh, it'll rain by lunch sunbathing this afternoon no doubt
-
my mates a river keeper and he has caught hundreds with his terriers he reckons theyre quick as fck and bite back bigtime but no match for his patterdales, personally i'd keep my lurchers away from them but no doubt a bit of sport could be had with maybe a beddy x

we all know how the press work i hope every hunting fishing shooting man / woman within this comics catchment area has the sense to boycott it with a letter to the publisher / owner / editor explaining why, having a laugh at their expense on here wont do any good hurt them in their pockets where they'll feel it

i'm on night shift and cant sleep, ive just read through this one never saw it 1st time round and .......i must have been a bad cnut in a previous life unbelievable
-
i'd try a wee bit of extra training, maybe a local park retrieving games in the dark with no bunnies or distractions first

England judging terriers/lurchers
birddog replied to sillydilly's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
i'd never show mine when judging and if a mates dog is in the ring all you can do is be straight if they deserve a prize they get one if they don't they don't, real mates take it as it is -
cant beat a good old un atb
-
cant beat a first light mooch for me, bunnies are fed and you can often find a fool or two that's forgot it's bunny bedtime and are still a little way from home, better still take a ferret in your pocket that wee dog of yours looks just the job for a few bolters. atb

i know the beddy, bull, deerhound, collie whatever thats been added can or may increase the chances of getting a fox dog (pre ban) but probably the best, hardest, meanest fox dog i've seen (pre ban) was a pure greyhound lb of muscle and teeth with a real attitude towards them but back at home a really breed typical laid back sort. if i was to breed a dog specifically for the task the most important ingredient for me would be finding the right greyhound to start with

ya can tell a worker will have marks and scraches and skuffs off going thru gates and crashing into dyke or nocks it gets [bANNED TEXT] running a non workerr will hardly have a mark on it not always, i've seen pets that have never worked stub a toe going up stairs or tear itself chasing a ball in the park and some veteran workers that hardly have a mark fact is some dogs are more accident prone than others worker or not, i've found that a dogs demeanour says a lot an experienced worker who's been there and done that usually has an air of confidence about it often even a bored look about the -

jeff, her dads a kinda line bred deerhound / greyhound and her mum's a top honcho bred greyhound, as you know i was after one of your pups at the time (but unluckily she didn't take ) for mooching, bushing and ferreting with jazz, and whilst she's building quite a tally on bunnies her heart and natural gifts are set a little higher, when out in the woods her gaze is often out over the fields and if we ever judge together mate they'll be trouble cos i'd have to give it to your wee one from what i've seen you just couldn't better her as she's a wee belter. we were all gutted when your bitch -

another way to do it but it wouldn't be easy especially in the bigger classes, would be to hand each competitor a critique sheet, it would be a hard thing to implement as there is no set standard only one or better two judges subjective opinion but it would help especially with integrity, it needn't be a lengthy thing a line or two on the dogs structural positives and negatives, a conditioning tick box affair would be easier ie coat condition, muscle tone, nail length etc all things which every entrant should / could be equal (ish) -
pup to adult pics lets see how they have grown
birddog replied to chilly's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
i know i've said it before but he is really smart but my wee thing with running dogs is their feet (no not a fetish) any pics that show them better ? here you go birddog, not the best feet for a lurcher but had no major problems so far only cuts , suppose time will be the real test for his feet as with any dog ta mate, they look more than fine to me, good feet come in all shapes some folk are too hung up on tight feet but often the longer looser type on some greyhound, saluki or deerhound types are as hard as a whores heart, he really is a smart type i'm sure you'll have a great season -
For Sale bull x grey x deerhound x grey pups
birddog replied to cozzyamy88's topic in Working Dogs & Livestock
they do look happy and content snuggled together, their gonna be well socialised having kids around, dam looks in ace nick like, the owner / breeder knows how to look after dogs i'd be more worried about pups that didn't get messy eating and if some big hairy guy with tatoo's was holding me up to show off my shape for the camera i'd be uncomfortable too. some folks just cant see the wood for the trees good luck with the pups -
if possible when the weather changes and its no good for lamping i'd rather get up for a dawn mooch or hour or two with the ferrets than help educate green bunnies they become lampshy fairly quick

not quite as destructive but on an away weekend at a mates in nottingham i'd hung my waxproof over a chair in the dining room (posh or what) and when i put it on the following day (with a hangover) a famous champion non ped whippet had cocked his leg against the chair and i got a pocketfull of piss and a wet hand
