Most mornings (5 out of 7) mine get about 4-5 miles along an old railway line which has been tarmac'd near my house. As there are fields either side, they are allowed to run loose and put up the occasional bunny or whatever, so they probably cover a couple more miles than than. The other 2 mornings it's a leisurely run around a local park for 30 mins, as I believe that they need some active rest as much as anyone.

Maybe it's the ex-forces in me, but as far as mates are concerned you should look out for each other. Side-by-side or back-to-back if necessary. If not, then he's just some pr1ck who happened to follow you and your dogs when you were out for a walk. Whether you were rabbiting, foxing, diggin his granny up for one last rumble or what-bloody-ever - he's be no' fcukin mate and due a bit of a lesson!

This morning I got roped into driving Mrs Misty and a couple of her colleagues to Newcastle (Metro Centre, Gateshead to be precise)on a training course with her work. As I had a couple of hours to kill, I went for a wander into Waterstones (I'm a feckin nightmare for reading books and mags) and discovers that Ross Kemps new book, Gangs 2, is out today and he's doing a book signing later on. I decided that if you don't ask, you don't get, right? So, I asks for the store manager, introduces myself as a freelance photographer and does she have anyone covering such a good PR opportunity or her? L

I carry a leatherman with me almost everywhere I go. I've spoken to a few cops who also carry them on duty and there doesn't seem to be a problem as long as the aforementioned blade length is ok.

Here, here! If you get some good photos, you may be able to sell them and recoup some of the costs of the gate. Your local paper might even be interested in buying them or doing an article on you. At worst, you get some nice pics to display at home.

As I thought this morning was going to be a beauty, I took my camera along with me when I took my Deerhound x for a walk at 0600hrs. I figured that as the sun came up I could get some nice shots of her and possibly a couple of her running a rabbit or two. It was beautiful, mist lying low over the river and fields As the sun started to creep up, I caught a nice wee sunrise shot followed by some nice portraits of Liana (including a few running shots) Then as we headed for home, I thought I saw something a wee bit away. Aye, she's a crackin lassie. One thing i've learned when shooting models, the top-notch ones, like Linzi, are brand new, down to earth, and generally a good laugh. Then there's the wannabe's, their pal took a couple o pics with her Nokia in the bedroom and now she thinks shes bloody Jordan with a right attitude but sod all to back it up.
