  1. not sure if you get an fac version or not, but if you do i imagine it would say S10 FAC on it somewhere. If not, and your unsure, i wouldnt be using it until you know. Best bet would be get it chrono'd asap. If you get it chrono'd at a shop though, and its over, they cant give you it back. Not sure if they just get it brought down or if they have to confiscate it. Although it you chrono it yourself and its over you will need to get it brought down anyway
  2. Haha funny story. Thats very similar to the situation i was talking about, only smaller container. Dont think i will be able to afford a long net any time soon but got 30 nets and getting another 20 soon. Would it be worth giving it a go with the nets? Also hoping theres no lay ups, but could just go at first light so theres plenty time John
  3. your be wasting your time with the tennis net mate do the best u can with the purse nets or buy a long net they come in differt lenghts and there not that dear Fair play. Was worth a shot anyway eh
  4. the mesh on a tennis net is far to big and heavy for a longnet mate ...... Aye? Still not seen the netting hes got and never played a game of tennis in my life lol
  5. A friend of mine has permission at a local country park that has a rabbit problem. They have a rugby and cricket green thats getting the worst of it. There a big metal container that the rabbits are burrowing under. They have tried blocking it but thats not worked. It looks like it would be too hard to put nets over but i will give it a bash. Anyway, they have gave him a load of netting that they make their tennis nets from. I was thinking i could put purse nets down wherever i can, and make a home made long net to go round the the container for any rabbits bolting through unnetted ho

    duck

Ive been wondering about this aswell. Got a permission with ducks on it and the landowner said feel free to shoot them. Just wasnt sure if it was legal or not. Nice one
  9. I hadnt ever even seen a Daystate until i started taking part in HFT. Only been to two shoots but seen a variety of Daystates and had a shot of a few as well. I think a lot of people think its a lot of money to spend on a hunting gun, that will be getting dragged around feilds/woods etc in all weather. Some people can justify the money, some cant. At the end of the day my £400 2nd hand s410 will put pellets in the same hole as a brand new £1000 MK4. I think its down to affordability and personal preference. Dont get me wrong, i would love a Daystate, and hopefully at some point in the
  10. Cheers Si mate. Cant wait to get back up but wont be for a few weeks off on hol on Saturday John
  11. Leave your carrying box outside with food outside it and see if shes there in the morning. Best of luck to you mate, i would hate to lose one. One of mines escaped twice, only reason we knew was because the dog was barking, went outside to see what it was and seen the ferret. If you have any cage traps you could try that. I would let my neighbours know as well and ask them to keep an eye out. Ive seen stories on here of people losing theres and finding them days later in neighbours gardens etc, hope you get it back John
  12. Nice shooting mate, some bloody big rats there!!
  13. What a fudd!! As well as all the points already made about his inhumane shots, the last thing a farmer wants is diseased wounded rats running about all over his yard bleeding everywhere!!
  14. Cheers mate best of luck to yourself as well
  15. Cheers Stealthy, those bunnies and feral's better watch out!!
  16. Nah, it was pissin down when i woke up at 9 but never got to the farm till about 11.15 and it had cleared up, ended up a nice enough day
  17. Well me n Scotty went up to the new permission for a bit of ferreting and feral bashing Scotts son came with us and so did one of my mates. Got there and ferreted some of the burrows, ended up with 4 rabbits. Link to my post in the ferreting forum http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/174745-first-day-out-this-season/ Anyway once we finished the ferreting, we decided to have a quick go at the ferals then head to another ferreting permission, this plan soon changed as we had so much fun on the ferals When we got to the farm at first there was a lot of ferals on the gr
  18. Took a trip to a new permission this morning with the ferrets. Theres a road to the farm that must be 2-300 yards long, the burrows are on either side of the road. One side has a lot more burrows that the other. We had planned to just to the quieter side and come back another time and do the other. Netted up and had a wee break to let things settle down. Collared up and sent one ferret in. She went through from hole to hole but nothing bolted. When she came out i picked her up and moved to the top and put her in. Quickly got one hitting the net, but after that there was nothing, fer
  19. Phanton your a great guy mate, you done something similar for me a while back, and if i can ever return the favour i will do
  20. Your prob right, just wanted to get out for a bit anyway, off on hol soon so they will have time to settle down Aye the Loguns not up to much, luckily enough ive just borrowed it off my uncle until i get my own so no money has been shelled out for it I actually have one of the Ultrafires kickin about somewhere, hopefully i can find the charger and give it a go next time im out. John
  21. Well decided me an Scotty would head up the same permission as last week to see what was about. Decided to start off at a different bit this time. Theres a road on the permission to some kind of landfill site they have. I volunteered to hold and shine the lamp, and Scott could shoot. Walking up the treeline, we spotted a good few here and there. Scott got two shots off but both were misses!! So said that maybe his scope was off (excuses excuses ) so i told him i would show him how its done! (kidding, he asked me if i wanted a shot at the shooting ) Walked up about 20 yards or s
  22. Nah mate went oot masel,no bogey men about only horses ,which i'm not too keen on. I'd be scared if i was going out in EK in the dark l o l If i didn't have a gun ,don't know if i could have went out there but.As i said ,surrounded by houses and quite moonlit the night so wasn't too pitch black really. Keep lampin Sir Marti Haha mate your not wrong there. Last week when i was out i kept hearing a coughing noise, it was really creeping me out, just sounded like someone coughing constantly, turned out to be a sheep in the next field! lol
  23. Im just back from my 2nd attempt at lamping, came away with one. As said, steep learning curve, but a lot of fun. Are you going yourself or with someone? I must admit im glad i go with someone when lamping, think if i went myself i would last 15 mins then get scared at some of the noises ive heard and run back to the car lol Good luck mate john
  24. Nice on Phantom. Im just back in from a wee lamping session, managed one aswell, currently being munched upon by 3 hungry ferrets at the moment How you getting on with the ferrets mate?
  25. Ah well, you can only try. I managed to pick up sone ferreting permission on sunday. Last farm out of about 9 we went to. Worste they can do is say no, a bit gutting but at least you tried
