I agree about the crate , Madges is her bed she gets in it when she wants & i only lock it when i am busy & if i am out , she is protected in there & having laminate if something startles her she skids all over the place like Bambi , so to me the crates just an extention off a bed but with a top & sides
  4. The last few days the dogs been much more confident outdoors seemingly, head up etc & not cowering when she hears a loud noise But this behaviour i dont understand, she stops dead when she sees a person & puffs her cheeks out , its only if i am with her though, she dont do it when my husband walks her Is it normal behaviour & whats she doing it for if anyone knows the answer Thanks in advance
  5. Use either frontline or a tick picker , smothering them shocks the tick to spew the contents back into the ferret & if its infected with Lyme disease then so is your ferret

I dont have any little kids now so it made no difference getting this adult greyhound as my youngests 13, but in the past i have made sure my terriers shut away when my brothers kids came round here as there not dog owners . providing the kids are schooled about how to behave round the dogs i shouldnt think you will have a problem
