  1. i do both. prefer mooching during the day watching the dogs work but like to test the dog on lamp.
  2. Don't think I've been anywhere that doesn't require a dog to jump. My 22 inch bitch will jump any thing on comand, and my 7 month old pup has been jumping barbed wire fences since 5 month. Jumped her first five bar gate the other week so I am pleased with her progress
  3. Fine example of a 1x that... must agree with you on that johnny boy68 the dog looking fine bird credit to you bud atb keano what sort of collie is that mate?
  4. yeah if theres one piece of advice i would give it would be dont show the dog too much too young. i have slipped my collie x on too many impossible rabbits in her first season. although she is still game enoguh she has lost a little bit of her drive she had for rabbits than when she was younger. luckely i have not spoiled her on the other quarry and she has that extra drive for them still.
  5. most experienced dogs do this some just try that bit more,i think you need to get out wid a few more experienced lads wid DIFFERENT CROSSES then you maybe would'nt be so kennel and breed blind Yeah I know loads of dogs will I was just saying that I've only seen mine do it.
  6. nice thate mate how olds your dog V similar to my dog, what breeding is it
  7. jumping is a must where I go. My dog started jumping when I first got her at seven month, but never really masterd it until about fourteen. Now she will jump anything with precision and only 22tts. My 23 week old pup will jump barbed wire fences allready but she's 22 and half tts.
  8. yeah think your right their mate. i constantly slipped my dog on hedge rabbits all last season and think ive sikend her a bit. think il choose the runs wisley next season especially for my new pup.
  9. read back through ive wrote moore and cant see how i come across as a school kid or where i contradict my self, point it out if you want as i cant see it. i dont know why you so botherd im not knocking your dog in any way i know its a good dog, im simply saying what i prefer to have as my own dog. if everyone one liked the same type of dog the lurcher world would be pretty boring in my opinion.
  10. if it bothers you so much don't read it.

  11. Well I think if he wanted a hare dog he wouldn't get that breeding any way. It should be ok for lamping though. My mates dog was bulky and he was gonna get rid but he kept it, it thinned out and turned out to be one of the best he has had.
  12. It looks v similar to my collie grey bitch, 23 weeks. What tts is it mate and how much does it weigh.
  13. best point so far a reckon
  14. +1 I was one of those city dwellers who viewed hunting as cruel and unneccessary. I honestly belived that tho I'd never ever had a taste of it myself - I just believed the hype. Then I moved here, got a lurcher as a pet, he caught a rabbit and my entire life changed. And it continues to do so with the experiences I have. That was a good read. But I don't think the journalist went out of his way to make Mr Hardzog sound good - in fact to me he seemed to struggle to be non judgemental. He spent more time talkig about the injuries the dogs sustain and less time about the importance o
  15. i was just thinking before, i got my 6 weeks old pup when she first came into season and it has been with her all the time, sleep together etc. do you think this would have brought the phantom on stronger??
  16. My mates saluKi cross is the same. I think too much saluki blood is best left for coursing
  17. course she will pal! I dont think anybody has said that, and if so, it is incorrect.... Oh, just when lennord said if she was GOOD before she will be Ok later. Just the way I read it sorry.
  18. So she won't be as good as she was before?
