  1. I see a lot of people saying at this breed and that breed for prey drive, but haven't all sight hounds got high drive. Which one do you think has most, sight hounds only.
  2. that s/g is the spit of my pup, my pup is 15 weeks, even got the little white tip on the tail. how olds yours. mine is saluki grey/ saluki grey. not the best pic like as you cant see the white tip, but it does lol, cant be chewed to take another tonight. http://s805.photobucket.com/albums/yy335/adamb201/?action=view&current=jet15weeks.jpg

  6. Yeah I know it males sense but its f*****g hard, a lot harder than I ever imagined.
  7. Ai wey its 14 weeks old so he's spent a bit on it, and he not one of me good mates just a mate so... and yeah that why I'm getting a totally differe t dog and funny enuff it will make a big black dog and my bitch I lost was white lol
  8. After loosing my bitch on Friday I feel the best option is to move straight on, even though I'm finding it difficult. Now I feel like getting anothet collie grey but deep down I know I'm just trying to replace my bitch, and to be honest I think that will be near impossible as I've never seen another collie grey like her. So I'm going to get a dog I would not usually go for, a saluki grey dog with breeding going back to merlin and eve. My mate bread the litter and he's selling me it for cheap. I just hope this is my bad luck over for a very long time.
  9. sorry to hear that mate, just lost my 12 month bitch friday afternon after a deer, snapped her neck. had no idea i would tke it this bad. stay positve lad, as people keep telling me but its not easy.
  10. cheers for all the replys, made me feel a lot better.
  11. was walking dogs through the wood and my 11 and half month pup took off after a deer, when she didnt come back for a while i started to worry as she has never done this before. she has been with m every where i go since six weeks. after half an hour of looking found her stone dead, think she must have sapped her neck. absolutly gutted. she was starting to become a very good bitch. this was her first propper run on a deer and the excitment and drive in her must have coursed her to be reckless. but at least she died a very happy pup. http://s805.photobucket.com/albums/yy335/adamb201/?action
  12. when my oldest dog was about 13 month she caught about 20 rabbits in less than half an hour, that was at begining of season though, after they get lamped a lot they get harder. i started my pup up there few months back at about 9 month and she killed 5/7 first time on the lamp.
  13. no offence mate but arent we all.
  14. Pets do not make workers, that's absolute rubbish mate, doesn't matter if its kept outside or in every dog should have love and attention from its owner it needs this to bond.
  15. Doesn't really matter unless it anoys you, which it would me. My oldest dog yapps when chasing through rough and woodland during the day, but never once when running open land or lamping I prefer this though as I know when she is on somthing when she is out of sight and also alerts other dogs if working in a pack, couldn't be doing with it when lamping though.
  16. this thread is like a breath of fresh air compared to some of the garbage you get on here
  17. same breeding as my bitch (5/8 3/8), nearly 10 month in pics just over 11 now. doing well on rabbits and big ones so far, hoe she turns ougood on the reds aswell wheshe gets older. how tall and what weight was tht dog fully fit? http://s805.photobucket.com/albums/yy335/adamb201/?action=view&current=skye.jpg&newest=1 http://s805.photobucket.com/albums/yy335/adamb201/?action=view&current=skye.jpg&newest=1#!oZZ1QQcurrentZZhttp%3A%2F%2Fs805.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fyy335%2Fadamb201%2F%3Faction%3Dview%26current%3Dskyehare.jpg%26newest%3D1
  18. Ano exactly what you mean mate, took my bitch out a few weeks ago and she was so bad my matr was saying I should find her a good pet home, but he never new how bad some bitches can get when they break down as he only has dogs.
  19. My bitch is currently in the five to twelve weeks after and her seasons don't half fk her up. She gets straight lined by a rabbit and needs about one hundred meters to catch up to it. All muscle tone goes and she's basicaly usles, except for catching pheasents and pushing stuff out, can't wait til she's bak to normal its sad to see her so frustrated, all the drivr is thrre just not the ability, think I'll have to use season suppresents from now on.
  20. great old dog, and spot on temp Bryn as been my best rabbit dog, Blaze was good fox dog +rabbit dog, old bess was a good alrounder no pic on the comp, sh was 25in 55lb smoth brindle colliexgreyxwhippetx? Bryn Blaze how tall and what weight was blaze mate?
