  1. what's the location please
  2. Good shooting Davy....whats the lamp and do you rate it ?
  3. I counted 98 :shok: Only joking.......well done lads.
  4. Now that I have my permission I am using the HW100 three - four times a week. While I try and keep the rifle in tip top condition I have noticed a few scratches on the silencer (inevitable I guess) from leaning against trees / gates etc. So it's time for a cover of some sort. Some of you guys use tape and some have a neoprene sleeve. Pro's and Cons and where to get the best bargains would be greatly appreciated. Cheers,

  6. sweet as ........ :clapper: :clapper: another spawn of the devil whacked
  7. I am throwing this open to the floor ( as Davy's inbox was full)..... A while ago there was a real indepth look at pellet placement / groupings at diffrent ranges. I'm pretty sure it was one of Davy's posts but to be honest i always feel a "little grubby" trawling through peoples posts and topics. What sort of target are you using, I have now got myself a large permission and I am trying to be as accurate as possible at various distances ( aren't we all). I am looking at a full test on my HW100 and would really appreciate some pointers. :friends: Thanks ,
  8. Looks like a lil' cracker there mate....should do you well
  9. 3 1/4 inch blade info below. Cheers. http://www.alloutdoor.co.uk/buck-knives/bu...tree-handle.htm
  10. I have this knife for sale, you can see from the photos that it has been used in the field, however the blade and edge (although a little scratched) are in excellent condition. The blade has only ever been sharpened on a water stone and is of the standard you would expect from Buck (390 grade steel). I'm looking for £30.00 posted out. Paypal is fine. (Please note £30.00 is NOT £25.00 or £20.00)
  11. Shot the first one straight out the tree, he dropped like a stone. Spread him out on the lawn and then all hell broke loose, the racket they were making was deafening. Two nosey b*****ds popped down to see what was going on and tonight they will also sleep with the fishes....... :whistling: TheHW100 strikes again.
  12. As Darryl said....head for the gun club / range and shoot some targets. The more you practice the luckier you get..... You don't want to fluff the first shot at live quarry and most importantly you want to be able to confidently hit the kill zone and do a humane job. Cheers Belly
  13. Guy's I am in the process of stripping down my HW 57 so I can strip the stock, give it some well earned TLC and get it looking how it should. I have noticed in the "bits" that have come out a white plastic plug. This is about the size of a toothpaste cap and i haven't a clue where it has come from and where it needs to go back to ? any pointers ? Thanks
  14. Can't quite see the rod length on the bag....how long ? Thanks
  15. Anyone ever stripped down their stock ? I have a HW57 that has had plenty of action over the years. A mate has told be that if i strip it back to the wood I can use the tip of a hot iron to remove the odd ding and dent ? What oil / varnish would you use to finish off ? Thanks in advance
  16. Guys, I have today been for a look around my new permission, meet the landowner, get the permission signed and show my insurance. Now I need your help and advice, whilst no stranger to walking round with my HW100 and dropping the odd pigeon and rabbit at my very small permission I am a bit lost when it comes to around 800 acres. My first thoughts are to pack some sarnies and a flask and leave the gun at home, walk the land and make notes / photos and try and come up with some sort of structure / plan / strategy ? I am also pretty sure I will also need to invest in some clothin
  17. Well guys n gals its taken me an age to get a permission and finally its happened. (I have been lucky in the fact that that I am able to shoot at the lake I fish but its only a couple of acres and I don't like to shoot when others are there for obvious reasons.) I live in Birmingham and work in Amersham I must have spoken to every farmer and land owner the length of the M40 :censored: No joy at all. I even considered getting rid of Kylie (HW100 - looks great, curves in the right places and feels just .....anyway ) So my Dad phone's tonight for a general chat and tosses into the conv
  18. Guy's, Please excuse my ignorance in this (I hope it's not a dumb ass question) I have been on this site quite a while now and i've been dipping into the lurcher and terrier sections trying to make my mind up as to what sort of dog would benefit most from my lifestyle. I've decided that the Border Terrier is the best way forward and I am now researching the breed and care / requirements that little bit further to make completley sure.. My question is...some strains of the breed seem to be much longer in the leg than others, does this present any problems / advantages. Shorter legs make
  19. could be really interested, as the guy above says......any more pictures ? Thanks,
  20. For all you youngsters out there....before you ask.... :whistling: :whistling:
