Try Warkworth beach, North side of the river Coquet, runs all the way to South side of Alnmouth.
Cross the the river heading North in Warkworth take first right follow signs to golf course, park at top.
There was plenty of razor fish (shellfish) at low tide, bit of neat table salt down the hole, out they pop.
Also was plenty of shrimp in the sand pools at this time of the year.
Take a pan and a bottle of fresh water, make a fire with the drift wood and cook em on the beach, nowt better.
You can catch some good flatties in summer, and decent cod
