  1. Hi Welcome, You will enjoy the crack on this forum, its the first forum Ive taken too. Lots of interesting topics and bit of a laugh while talking about the things we love. I'm 50 so your not that 'auld' to me :welcomeani:
  2. The scars Ive seen round the eyes, are like bauld patches. Under the skin was full of little bumps all over, if you touch a full myxy one, which I dont make a habit of, it has similar but larger bumps under the skin. Has anyone seen rabbits that have recovered from myxy, or is it a total once they get it they die? There is also another virus going about in rabbits, think its VHD or summit like that, poor bloody bunnies.

    Goshawk?

My thoughts are, the bird was flying around the fields, goshawks are quite secretive. You usually, if lucky, catch a glimse of a disappearing gos. Size wise, the male gos is much bigger than a female sparrow hawk. When a Gos moves into an area the first thing that disappears is the sparrow hawks they get eaten. In my opinion its a female sparrow hawk............... But try and get a better photo, could be wrong Mind saying that, it does look quite big in the photo...
  10. The myxy one I had yesterday was full of rabbit fleas around the ears and head. I did not see any on the clean ones. The flea carries the virus but why does it all of sudden appear, you would think that fleas would be present all the time??? Any boffins out there to explain what relation the flea is to myxy rabbits,
  11. Top shooting, Bet you cant wait to get back

    Myxy

Just back from doing my walk about, 6 clean bunnies in the bag On the edge of a small copse bagged No 7, went to pick it up and it had the start of bloody myxy Its strange as the copse is right in the middle of the land and I shot the clean ones round the edges, you would think as there has been no sign, the disease would turn up on the edges first then spread. I'm in Yorkshire whats it like round the country, be interesting if you've spotted it to mention what county your in ...... Any thoughts??

  17. So, your in Gods country. Try Warkworth beach, North side of the river Coquet, runs all the way to South side of Alnmouth. Cross the the river heading North in Warkworth take first right follow signs to golf course, park at top. There was plenty of razor fish (shellfish) at low tide, bit of neat table salt down the hole, out they pop. Also was plenty of shrimp in the sand pools at this time of the year. Take a pan and a bottle of fresh water, make a fire with the drift wood and cook em on the beach, nowt better. You can catch some good flatties in summer, and decent cod
