  4. thanks alot ricky this has been helpful, so i can work on the sit/stay right away but start of slowly with it not to much to soon. what about walking to heel? I'v heard that its best to teach your dog this when its a puppy because at that age it will run along next to you anyway rather then wanting to run off.
  5. Hello, I have just paid the deposit for a springer bitch i will be picking her up if a few weeks. what age would you say i could start training her? 6. I am looking for a pair of Binoculars and am not sure what magnification to go for. I will be useing them on a grouse moor for scaning hill faces, spoting deer and identifying birds. I think someone told me that 10x40 were good or it could have been 10x50. I'v seen a pair that are somthing stupid like 180x72 is that over kill? what do you use? Thanks alot, Tom

  11. one thing i'v noticed with partridges is if somthing like a buzz or a fox or even a person walks past the pen they can kill themself flying into things. i dont know how big your pens are but when i 1st started helping a keeper rear partridge i ran past one of the partridge runs and they all took off and crashed into the posts at the bottom 3 or 4 stone dead. but if there arnt any marks on the back of the neck or on the body all i wouldn't have said it was a stoat

  16. wait in the other post you said you were offering free pest control ,great! with the use a dog gun traps and snares so you must have some equipment to work with, tbh the best way to do it is get a job and get some genuine british traps and start small gettting more when you can afford it. its what i do and believe me its very satisfying when you've had to work that hard for it. so in a blunt way stop being a scab and get a job well said, save up for your gear like everyone else. by that gun off your mate if he's needing it sel't
  17. alright rusty, i have a place on the HNC as i did the NC last year. as long as your keen about keepering, roughly know whats its all about and arent a eejit you'll be fine im sure. maybe see u in august.

  20. if they are feral you can i think, because they way it work (i think) is if you shoot a cat or a dog (a dog that isn't worrying livestock, which game birds dont come under) it counts as you destroying some one property and you are charged with destruction of property, buy if it has no owner and is killer protected wild birds (songbirds) as well as gamebirds i think you are with in your rights to shoot it in the protection of wild/gamebirds, I think. keep it discreet anyway dont go away and hang it on a fence somwhere lol
  21. Andre Georgescu is a legend. you's seen that DVD of his where he's shooting kangaroo's at 1,000+ yards and head shotting them and the one where he's shooting great whites man-eaters with shotgun slugs.
