Joe, I live on the English side of the border, and can well remember when we were charged a shilling in the pound to use or change scottish notes, even to this day, many shops and pups have signs saying "no scottish notes", although this is more to do with the comparative ease of forging them. On the same sort of vein; virtually all major scottish businesses have taken a major hit on the stock markets, as well as the pound dropping a cent against the dollar. This is just since the "yes" vote took a slight lead, doesn't look good.

no mate in a 100 years scotland has made the difference only twice Joe, since Labour was formed, it has been voted into government five times with a majority of less than forty. Removing the Scottish vote/MPs, they would not have been able to form a majority government. If Scotland votes yes, Labour will lose 41MPs and Tories will lose one. The one good thing for me in Scotland voting yes is that Labour will probably never form a government in rUK again in my lifetime. The days of huge majorities are long gone now there are four main parties.

Joe, I'm sure you are aware that the NHS in Scotland is already devolved to the Scottish parliament. Salmond is bare faced lying when he says Westminster will privatise the NHS in Scotland...... Only Salmond and the Scottish parliament have the power to do that. Its well explained what the risk is, how it will effect the nhs... nice try What do you mean, nice try ? I'm right, and if you are as informed as you think, then you'll know I am.

I think it's ALL to do with Salmond; he wants the personal glory of "leading Scotland to freedom" ! He has lied, evaded telling the truth, and if I was conspiracy theorist, I'd say he was hoping for a very narrow defeat, so he can get more powers under "devo max", and still have the support and backing of the UK !

One thing that hasn't been mentioned; no matter who wins, almost 50% of the Scottish population is going to feel betrayed, angry, dissalusioned, bitter.... If the "yes" win, they will float along on a feeling of nationalistic euphorea for a few years, then when the truth dawns, it will be up to their children and grandchildren to pick up the pieces. Many of the "no" voters will have decided they have to leave, and the best and the brightest will emigrate, possibly south of the border, maybe to Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the USA. didnt they also say no more devo powers etc two years ago? what are they saying now... also has there attempts to mislead/scare voters been proved.. good support over belfast hills today, support growing everywhere they have all publicly said no consistently over the last 12 months the only person saying anything different is Salmond because he knows hes scuppered without it. hence no plan B You could look at it that way. The "no" side certainly seem to be panicking today. There are news reports that Scotland won't be allowed in the 2016 Olympic Games, and also that the Queen will appoint a Governor General, (like Canada, Australia and New Zealand) who will have the power to sack or appoint Prime ministers if Scotland gets independence !!!!! Joe, when you're a minority in your own country, (if you all vote "yes"), your children will be lining up to emigrate, maybe even to the rUK. Salmond has said, and even you can't spin it, that he will build up the tax base with immigrants. Where will they come from ? Bulgaria, Rumania, and all the other shitholes in the world. Scots will end up paying more in taxes to keep these people in benefits, just as the UK is doing now ! We should stick together and make the UK what it should be; a land for ALL Scots, English, Welsh and Northern Irish !

To make good on his promises, Salmond needs to massively increase the population and tax base of Scotland. He has said he will do this by immigration..... He'll turn Scotland into a country based on Tower Hamlets, where the indigenous population will subjugated to the Muslim influx, and your law will be based on Sharia...... Do you think any of that pish makes us feart to vote yes, me dont think so.Not long now and we will see. I used to think, as an Englishman, it would make no difference to me how Scotland voted. But now, after studying the facts and figures, it makes sense for me to have a "yes" vote. I was recently given a bottle of, I am told, finest single malt. Being a non-whiskey drinker, I managed to make it more palatable with copious amounts of coke and ice. Now my whiskey drinking friends describe me as a heathen !! Strange people.
