  1. that would of been a long summer not knowing and its nice too know you got the potential tool for the job , that will be in the dogs mind all summer .......good luck fella
  2. iv heard on more than one occasion of a man you do or maybe used to associate with using not 1 but 2 terriers at once. Naughty man. that's me , chuck them all in if its right place
  3. different tools for different jobs , every place is different , a lot of it is down too the owner making the right decision , we all get excited and make mistakes , really have too think about what your putting in , aswell as thinking about other habitants in there such as rabbits, depth , size , .........your purpose and weighing everything up will give you the answer of what dog too enter. tactical terrier work is my own preference , adore watching it ,............ any moron can drop a dog in and dig it , but as said your purpose is key forgot too say don't listen too others on a dig
  4. For the record I can't 100 % trust a dog that leaves one
  5. Your not making sense a more determined terrier would stay and be dug too , more determined a mutt is the longer will stay , not getting this it's like your contradicting your self , a bolting terrier too me is a dog that can find in big places , sit back and bay and after so long leave it , and it is correct that half of it is down too the fox and where your working it from , as a drain is 90 % chance of bolting , depending on the dog and the fox ,

  7. I think your just referring too soft dogs and hard dogs , nothing is guareenteed when you drop a dog in , as the the more you show them the style of work changes, dpends how often your working them . I know what your saying tho and it depends what your purpose is and pre ban for the hunt a soft dog that will leave one in a bad place is a valued tool too a hunt terrierman pre ban , but if all you want is too dig then drop a harder one in but that doesnt mean it wont bolt unless you stop it in after she opens up
  8. Yes mate its hard too keep the balance jusr right , we feed about 6 calves day before , obviously letting the skinny ones in first and add hounds too the feedding judgeing on weight ; thats feeding 30 couple , I went too another pack and they feedin the evening before lightly . Just interested what works for others
  9. must be a few on here that work a pack of hounds , what do you feed and how much and at what time do you feed prior too hunting the next day , too get the best out of your hounds, very interested , obviuously the balance has too be right and may differ due too the hounds you use , if there is any old English or modern and welsh would be interesting too here what you do regards feeding 24 hours before hunt ......... many thanks
  10. firstly dog has gone, thanks for interest and fox dropper welcome too the internet hunting lol,, full of shite ...................= internet
  11. Will sort out pics too the lads what requested them when I get home later about tea time , cheers
  12. all black small type patterdale , not long entered , unspoilt , this dog will make a good dog , im so confident that if its no good I will refund your money anytime when the dog comes back,.......ive offered this dog too mates and after being over stocked , couldn't find a home . I got this dog off a friend as needed another terrier for work , now the work has stopped its not fair on the dog not working , hes quite in kennel good with other dogs , would make a great dog in hunt service . im putting a price on it of 100 for the interest of the dog ., pm your number can send photos via phone ,.
  13. i personally haven't seen any but a vixen was dug last week suspected liter under her , dog lifted and hole back filled ,.......i wouldn't like too of hazard a guess meself , without seeing them , it wouldn't surprise me too see cubs now as pairs have been dug a while before xmas
  14. i lost a fox dog a week ago today , they aren't easy too replace ........nobody gets rid of there fox only as there relied upon more than people think , but then im not in hunt service but close enough too know that they really are a hunt terriermans main armour , without one its end of, especially stopping 3 days a week , any jobs going....
  15. the plea is desperate and some what strange I agree , all the best
  16. ok Morton you seem like your in the know , people loose good dogs and others don't give there best dogs ............. some people have good friends who help out , and some one new too a hunt aint going too be given a good fox only dog, without knowing this guys situation , he shouldn't be judged , I m pretty sure there are a lot of hunt terrierman without fox only dogs , well ive seen one without a fox only , ok on a mark , but when your trying places , essential on some terrain too have a fox only terrier . anybody can drop a terrier inn and dig it out , but that aint no good too a hunt
  17. enlighten me with your knowledge poacher man
  18. 9" pipe , clay or concrete , we used in the past a place what makes the concrete pipes that were defects and therefore cheap , dymented that would probably hold well but for bolting would prefer two exits , .........depends what your using it for I suppose
  19. shes been watching you too much , burying notes $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
  20. If a dog or hound is marking raynard , most terriers will go too it , finding a fox in an earth avoiding anything else takes a fox only dog , which ain't easy too find the right balance, there worth there wait in gold and I can't see any dog like that being freely available
