  9. I knew you'd bite Tom...............! Just one thing. For clarity it should be noted the difference between Catholic and Roman Catholic. Protestants are still Catholic but not Roman Catholic. It is still quoted in the commumion; "We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church.............." A day without education is a day lost in ones life. Swampy

  11. As I said earlier, anything to do with the ministry/government; they will not enforce unless it is in their interest to do so. BTW. Shooting squirrels in a public place is definately a No No. The public hand feed the bloody things in some parks round here! The policy re grey squirrels being culled was a response to the decline of the rd squirrel hence the 9mile radius around a red squirrel colony/pair. Clearing squirrels on public land would without doubt have to be carried out under licence.
  12. Mick, you can pick up a booklet from your local council or visit their website for info on planning permission guidlines. |Don't go telling them exactly where you live or you'll get a pencil neck tapping on your door trying to justify his existence in the world. A rule of thumb though is as long as it is not greater than 25% of your house and it doesn't exceed a certain height (I don't know how high) You won't need permission. It does however depend on all sorts of other variable such as conservation areas restricted areas and boundary proximities etc. I would suggest you chat to the neighbo
  13. Went ratting at the end of the shooting season, to clear the pheasant pens of hundreds of the bloody things. 8 Dogs. Three russels, two borders one staff one staff X and a Westy. Best dog on the day? ......the Westy. Man did we rip the back out of the Staffs owner. Apparently the owner of the westy says it was his GF dog and was more of a house pet.! Damn fine ratter! Swampy ninging until work finishes
  14. Awww mate, you've got to get a couple of ferrets. They're easy to look after can be quite affectionate if brought up from kits and the tackle is cheap. If you've got acouple of dogs you can work them together. Great sport bolting rabbits and getting dog onto them!
  15. I wouldnt dream of it . Im just looking for who to write/email now. Hopefully ill get some mpre permission in time for the summer, really wan some rabbiting permission. Hughesey I'm impressed with your honesty. A rare commodity these days. I do find it hard to believe that you struggle to get permission for rabbits, in Cheshire of all places! Is it because most of the land is owned by footballers these days? Swampy Lol probably is in Cheshire but sadly i dont live in Cheshire lol. No, there doesnt seem to be that many rabbits around my area really, the only prope

  19. Re Squirrels. I'm sur I read somewhere that grey squirrels were to be culled is a 9 mile radius of any colony of red squirrel as a part of a red squirrel protection policy. By which gov' body I don't know You could always claim you have seen a red one near by!

  22. Clean Dry Air keeps being mentioned. Now call me stupid (most do!) but surely it depends where you pump your gun up. You will always get moisture in the cylinder however this is usually dispelled on the first shot. So if your pumping your gun up in the middle of a field in the pouring rain next to a bonfire yes you will get moist dirty air. If you're in your garage at home in the warmth of the living room, you'll get dry clean air. Stands to reason. Thats why I like springers. One shot. Wait 20mins and the coney are out again or move along to the next patch. Like I said before. I only take

Absolutley! Trying to find positives......It does mean I can guarentee clean kills as you can get really close. Its good training for the pup. Other than that I cant think of anything. I find it quite sickening when I come accross one. Blind, deaf and helpless. Funny I can break the neck of a netted rabbit without batting an eye. Shooting a mixi point blank upsets me. Some say that they are still alright to eat...........No thanks! Swampy "putting the ning in morn for 16hrs 18m"
