  1. If he was still alive I'm pretty sure you'd either be living with him or he'd have taken an injunction out against you. Do you realise you appear to have un unhealthy obsession with a man you never knew?
  2. Can anyone PM me their meets over xmas & new year please. Looking to get out but its been a good few years since I followed them, thanks
  3. Hole ending IMO is completely unnecessary & can encourage a dog to be reckless. Natural entering everytime, heard it said it can help with a slow starter but never found this to be the case. Theres a few hole end champions doing the shows round durham that have failed to make the grade but are peddled & have produced endless pups due to their breeding, looks, scars & fairytale working ability
  4. Its only cos u live in the posh end of newcastle that u can keep those awful bloody dogs lol
  5. Only the very best of dogs are allowed on the sofa..... Cheers. if thats the case rich what the hell is that oversized manchester terrier doing on there?
  6. Stunner? What if he's below average working or racing? Would you still breed from him?
  7. Johnny how old are you & how long have you kept terriers? Theres loads of lads who learn alot in a short time but you never stop learning in the dog game
  8. I understand your points made in regards to the law & working style of terrier WC. However, I feel that working terriers would be in decline on a much bigger scale if everyone kept bolters/bayers which they were happy to breed from. I've heard it said before about hard dogs being worthless, having to spend time laid up. Give me the hard dog any day that can be dropped in the awkward earth with few stop ends that a bayer has been given the runaround for hours & get a result to stop the messing on. One thing i've noticed is the lads who insist on bolters & bayers always have excuses
  9. Sounds too good to be true that offer mate lol
  10. Genuine bloke is nastybilly & a great host. Been a few years now mate since I was up with grammas but you gave us a cracking nights sport with the dogs. Hope you're keeping well mate
  11. Are you saying that a dog that has achieved a working certificate through hunt service must be a good one & something worth breeding from?
  12. what if he doesn't turn out any good? Seems a bit premature making a statement like that but hope he does well for you
  13. No reason why he can't be shown something before the end of the season. I would start him when you think he's ready. I had a small russell who seemed keen enough to go & had his chance when I dug down to an older bitch who's fox had pushed on a bit. The russel went up the tube, met charlie & shot out faster than he went in. The bitch pushed on & we dispatched the fox. 2 weeks later the lurcher marked a small 3 hole rabbit warren & the russell wanted in & this time he showed no caution like his first time. No baying just bumping, broke through to a fox that had come off seco
  14. Well I've met Plummer the once & found him arrogant. Might have been something to do with the amount of crawling arselickers he had around him though. Cant judge him on one meeting
  15. so why did you ask in the first place, you're obviously smitten with them. Why is there more negative views on these terriers than positive if they're such wonder dogs? Great man....are you 15 yr old & love reading?
  16. read what I say mate....he didn't improve on it, wonder how many lads would be willing to part with their breeding to see some idiot use it the way plummer did
  17. Breeding beagle into a terrier to help 'pack', at least the border started off as a true working terrier before deteriorating. Plummer went down the wrong route from the start, why not choose a line of russell & look to improve on that rather than detract from what a terrier should be by adding hound blood? Each to their own but I cant see what a Plummer gives that any other working breed couldn't if given the chance. Seen Plummer pups advertised for silly money over the years from 'known' breeders....with the good of the breed in mind obviously
  18. Nice one mate, think I'll start putting the work in to gain some digging permission. Easy to lose, difficult to find....
  19. I'd go for a well bred russell as an allrounder, wouldnt have a plummer given free. Best ratter I've ever seen was a plummer bitch but what a horrible b*****d of a dog it was temperament wise. Same dog walked off twice below ground
  20. Has anyone used the +3 or zoom transceivers? They are reasonably priced & have 3 antennas so imagine they'd be a decent alternative if suitable?
