  1. had a walk on some local land earlier armed with my camera , weather was very misty so pictures not very good , spotted a small herd of red deer , 3 stags and 9 hinds . As you can see the young stags are very dark underneath , on the way back to motor i noticed this muddy puddle with well trodden track leading to it , im assuming this is where they have been wallowing ?? is it normal for the older stag to tolerate the younger ones at this time of year ? the largest 1 with 5 points was bellowing then the 2 younger ones where just sort of tagging along .   2. having just read through this thread , its easy too spot the lads who actually ran them and the dreamers and bullshiters, imo
  3. also be careful keeping them near chickens or ground chickens have previously been on as chickens carry a diesease , (black leg i think) thats fatal to turkeys

  6. ive raised indian game and ross cobs in the past , found the indian game more tasty but slow growing . The ross cobbs were eating machines and virtually sleep with their head in the feed trough , i was getting them to 2.5kg dead weight in 12 to 14 weeks , fed them turkey growers pellets and plenty of veg etc and finished them on corn ,very juicy when slow cooked, although they were faster to grow it seemed very un natural seeing them pile the weight on , stumbling about and generally lazy as feck , i think id go for a slow growing old breed if i do any more , such as some that have been menti

  9. i have ferreting permission on some of the surrounding land ,i live about a mile up the road , all the gear for a proffessional clearance and happy to lend you a hand atb phil
  10. id say depends on what lamp your planning to use and as said above the duration of your trips , i find a 14amp plenty for up to 6 hours using a 50 watt lamp .
