  7. Looking to buy my first quad these look the part and £1500- £2000 cheaper than the main four, does anyone no much about them reliability, spares build quality etc. they seem to get a good press on the net. Any information would be appreciated
  8. I know litter mates can be a problem but I have three dogs out of the same litter they are all kenneled separately but exercised together they do need a very strong hand but are generally not a problem but their never left alone together. I also have two bitches not related neither will tolerate each other they are absolute nightmare but good workers so I tolerate it. You probably best to see how they come on you'll probably find one dominates the other and they develop their own pecking order but when their out siblings tend to take more notice of each other than they do of you that said I w
  9. How wide are your runs Dezzy I'm trying to fit one extra kennel in my kennel block replacing wire dividers with block work but I'm not sure how narrow I can go, there only for Terriers There just under a meter wide wooly. Thanks for that mine are working out at 850mm between the blocks and 3.2m long looks a bit narrow I may have to lose a kennel and space them wider.

  11. I had a litter of 8 pups 18 months ago neither parents have bad jaws, out of the 8 pups 1 was undershot apparently both parents have to carry the gene to produce an undershot pup but I own both parents neither have any bad mouths in their past ancestry. I kept 3 of the pups including the dog pup with the undershot jaw it cause's him know problems at all and early indications he will turn out a good worker if so I would be happy to breed from him but would probably not breed as close as I normally would like to.
  12. Was chatting to a chap at our local hunt on Saturday and he mentioned that there used to be a gun pack run by a local farmer to the South of Milton Keynes, apparently they used quads and had a mixed pack of hounds? I’d be very interested to know what became of them and has anyone on here been out with them or knows anything about them? It’s very unusual to have a “foot/gun” pack around the Bucks, Beds and Northants area as this has very strong mounted pack following but it sounded an interesting little set up.
  13. had a good day out with me lad and the hounds today my lad is only seven and walked for six hours then started cry when i said its time to go home lol Great pics lovely to see, the young lads like that are the future for hunting, hope you have a good season.
  14. Just had delivered today a new triple Terrier Box made by Deakin from on here, I must say they are top quality job I am really impressed with it an absolute bargain, so if anybody’s in the market for one I would highly recommend giving Deakin a try.
  15. Nearly all our permission is on shooting ground some large some small, its taken us years to build up relationships with keepers and landowners that’s just how it is you have to earn their trust, a days free beating goes along way. As for all shooters being a—e holes and toffs you couldn’t me more wrong obviously there’s the high end but going by the land we hunt most of the shooting lads are working class guys just following their sport. Yeah Fox numbers have suffered with the rifle boys playing the numbers game but we’ve got the ban and working class Labour to thank for that one.
  16. Sorry to hear about your dog mate we had a similar thing to this some years back we were digging to a friend of mines 5 year old bitch in very difficult place and it took us some time to get to her. When we lifted her she had took some punishment so we cleaned her up and put her under the lamp next morning she was gone my mate was devastated he nearly gave the game up after that.
  17. No mate it is problem I had mother and son kennelled together for 12 months but they got scrapping in the middle of the night, all hell broke loose set all the other dogs off she won’t tolerate him in the kennel with her now. Only one answer separate kennels I’m afraid.
  18. Well that’s the first time of been called a leftie traitor, if you would crawl out your hole and see the world a bit you may realise that the colour of the skin, race or religion has little baring on what people are really like. I’ve worked with and have friends of many different race and religions and the majority are very decent people it’s the extremist and low lives on all sides that f—k it up for the rest. Yeah the government needs sort out the immigration problem but to condemn all the Blacks and Asians for the actions of a few is just not justified.
  19. I can’t see how you can defend this woman she got he just deserts if she gave a sh-t about her kids she would of kept her gob shut she was lucky one of them didn’t kick her all over that carriage just another goby low life. As for the state of the country yeah I would agree the immigration is out of control and we need a harder line but to paint every foreigner, black or Asian with the same brush is simply racist fascist ignorance lets not forget we fought a war against this boll—ks.
  20. Drontal Puppy/Plus or Panucur both are good but I'm sure I read some where it's advised to change the brand you use every now and again.
  21. You may well be right poacher I am talking with limited experience compared to some when it comes Lurchers but the bitch I have is good sensible Lurcher do you think she is an exception to the norm? Don’t get me wrong I’m sure there are lads on here that have lines that they would not dream of going away from and good for them but I am not convinced it’s the be all and end all with Lurchers.
  22. I’ve had Lurchers for the past 30 years up until I went to Hancock I brought from friends etc ancestry unknown but all were reasonable dogs. Terriers are my main interest but I’ve always had a Lurcher about the place. Working Terriers are very different however the breeding is the key with Terriers but this is different subject.
  23. Reading the posts and I know the Hancock thing has been done over and over again but having owned Beardie Collie x Greyhound from Hancock for the past six years I thought I would give you my point of view. My bitch is 23 inches at the shoulder is very obedient and was very quick to learn, she is great on the lamp if I am lamping alone you can run her of the slip and she won’t go until you send her, soon as the lamps out she’s back to you. She’s a pleasure to hunt with the ferrets. Downside she was slow to get to grips with Charlie but not a problem now, she will pull up at hedges that can’t b
