  1. I have a MK1 locator and I get on great with it but I have problems hearing it in windy conditions. Is anyone aware if the tone can be changed for a more high pitched one.
  2. This may sound daft to some of you but been thinking about maybe having may barrel shortened on my Brno 2e bolt action 22rf. But at what point on the rifle do they measure from to come up with a 14" or 16" barrel. And before anyone askes no im not doing it myself. Thanks
  3. My FAC is here at last, Just need a day off !!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Just wondered what everyone does with the foxes they have shot?
  5. Out of interest what do you all do with your dead foxes?
  6. If you fancy giving it a go you could always use the old method! Get your Jill and wet your finger with a bit of spit, then gently rub her vulva with your finger for a few minutes. You may be surprised on how still she will be almost as if she likes it? Repeat twice a day until out of season. Simples.
  7. I'm wanting a dog that I can take shooting/ferreting and be a pet for the family. Finally talked the wife into letting me get one after she said I could not due to us having cats. Anyway after she decided what breads she did not like I talked her into a Labrador. I wanted a chocolate bitch, this may sound stupid but is the way a dog works or it's nature affected in anyway buy it's sex or colour? Or is it just a personal choice? What's the pros and cons with the dog and bitch and even the colour? Sorry for all the questions but I'm not someone who jumps in at the deep end withought knowing an

  9. I had the same problem too, have a look at the cz 455 varmit with thumb hole stock in 22lr. Great rifle think my local gun shop had them in for around £400. But if you just want a general rabbit gun plenty of Brno 22lr's around for around £100.
  10. Yes I think you have a good reason for your application. But i would contact your local fire arms officer and explain it to them and see what they say, think some times it depends upon your location and what area you are under. Good luck anyway.
  11. Hi just waiting for my licence to come so in the mean time I put a deposit on a BRNO 2E Bolt action 22LR rifle. It was going quite cheep and looks to be in good condition, so should be ok for my first field gun I hope. Anyway its quite long, how would it be effected if I was to have the barrel shortened then re-screw cut to take a moderator again? Is this a bad idea? if not anyone now a good but low cost gunsmith around the yorkshire area that could do it for me? Also does anyone own a similar rifle and what do you think of it? And my final question is the moderator thats on
  12. Got a real bargin on saturday, a tripple bow back ferret box for only £15. Went to the fur and feather sale at Highgate dog track Rotherham and noticed a stall set up with ferret boxes,DVD's net's the lot. This stall is run by Mark and Karen Scott of the Ferret Box Company York Double boxes were only £10 and as I said tripple's only £15 they also sold well made quick set long net baskets for only around £15. A realy nice couple of people, the only thing I could fault Mark and Karen on was I made him an offer of £10 for his Whippet and he turned me down :11: and I was only try

  22. Thanks lads I did not want to cause world war 3 I was just after some of your advice. To the following questions. Im thinking of getting some long nets but not sure on size, length or supplier. I was thinking about getting a 100 yard net or would I be better with two 50 yard nets. Or would an other length be better? What size is best 4oz or 6oz? is it like my ferret nets wherby every bit of crap gets stuck in the 4oz? What is the best place to get quality, yet low cost nets from? What else do I need apart from nets, poles and end pins? Any other advice you can offer me?
  23. I have a little sh*t that would nip me if i had just been handling one of the other hobs. So i would flick him on the nose and tell him sharply NO! this seems to work. But i guess its cause i had another hobs sent on me that is also in season.
