  1. Our successive governments are responsible for this by standing by and letting the race card overrule justice .
  2. This involved fitting a suction mounted digital night vision spotter to the outside top corner of the windscreen on the 4wd where the driver can reach it to fairly covertly spot bunnies, then use a red LED torch equipped HMR to take the shot. The DVR was only a budget 420 TVL so the image is fairly grainy. Best watch it with your player set at about 5 inches across to see it nearer the raw quality the shooter see's before the image is compressed when processing it.
  3. I have a one off (for now) EVO torch version. I propose to make them available in five KwikFit EVO Add On NV formats. With either a 38mm, 50mm, 67mm or a 75mm torch head - or no torch head if the buyer already has an extra head for an existing EVO torch. This has become practical as the IR pill is compatible with each head size - and I can solder it in without waiting to customise it to a specific buyers requirement. I only currently have a 67mm EVO head, so it is offered with that head at £267, or headless at ONLY £220. These prices are subject to minor finalisation when I have p
  4. I thought I'd had my 'some bloke' spotters listed here but I seemingly forgot to do that so I have just listed these: http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/366474-home-built-digital-night-vision-pistol-grip-spotters/ Before you go there I'll point out that if you hunt alone on foot they are probably a bit too bulky for you. If you do your stuff from a truck the monitor can be left inside while you put the rest of it outside if you wish to use the extension cable.
  5. As I am now fully retired I will have more time on my hands for building night vision devices so I have reduced their prices by around 10% for 2017. I've had to start using names for my spotters now I have some varieties. This latest one is called a 'Pistol Grip spotter' and is available with a choice of lenses, integrated Infra Red illuminators, handles and mounts etc. I can supply it with a choice of C mount lenses: 50mm which is great for general rabbit and fox duty - or a 25mm lens for a wider field of view better suited to ratting ranges and the quarry being smaller on the scree
  6. Absolutely, I don't want anyone having to wipe my arse or clean up after me when I'm not able to it myself.
  7. Just had some good feedback about these on the PW, seems they also fit the NM800.
  8. Lol, I'd need a lot of solid orders to invest some of my pension in a batch of them Dave.
  9. I'd recommend anyone getting a DTC code reader if anything not obvious is going on with their motor if it was made in the last 20 years or so. It can save umpteen pounds replacing parts that were wrongly thought to be the issue, they don't cost a lot; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AC600-LCD-OBD2-CAN-BUS-Autos-Fault-Diagnostic-Scanner-Code-Reader-Handheld-Tool-/152249751427
  10. I have had another batch of T50 shrouds made, they are slightly modified to also fit the new EVO 50 torch. They simply replace the threaded torch bezel to minimise stray light from reaching the rear of the sound moderator so it doesn't reflect back to the scope. They also vastly minimise the light being seen off axis by your quarry. For use with night vision or lamping. Price remains free with my KwikFit Add On rigs, £13 collected, or £20 posted RMSD A few people have asked me if I can supply them for EVO 67 & T67 torches too. I'll consider having a batch made if enough people
  11. I recommend anybody with any car less than 20 years old get one that is compatible with their car. Starting in about mid 90's saw an introduction and transitional period between compatibility but I understand most cars made after 2001 are made with OBD2 (On Board Diagnostics 2) software that still changes for some cars (CAN etc) up to almost present day (I beleive) I'm not a mechanic but that's my basic understanding. Ebay and other sites generally list the vehicle compatibility of them. They will likely save hundreds of pounds for anyone who is even vaguely spanner wise and willing t
  12. Boxing day discounts - I'll give a 20% discount on these night vision items that are paid for on Boxing Day 2016. Links to individual threads are below - please post on this or the item thread if you want anything so I and others can see its been ordered and may not be available if its a one off. Items shown with no lenses in are prebuilt but awaiting customers choice of lens or illuminator options. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Customised 'some bloke' spotters: http://nightvisionforumuk.c
  13. These can be custom built with the monitor and battery box off-set to the left or right if required,
  14. Hmm, I was going to suggest you mount it on your truck to stabilise it. If you use sticks could you rig up a 1/4" 20 tpi tripod adaptor of sorts. I'd not pursue the 600 capability with a smaller lensed option.
  15. Thanks SB. And yes, the mag is too high & wobbly. I just can find anything suitable, other than thermal, but at a few grand, it's cost prohibitive. Are you hunting on foot or with a truck?
  16. KwikFit night add on night vision rig for sale - made by some bloke in a shed. They are made with moulded and machined components that are custom designed and made in small batches specifically for me. I say this to explain that while I will only have one built at a time, I will be able to replace it within a day or so once one has been sold. https://youtu.be/wc7E5baSXW8 There are some minor revisions since I made the video: The quiet push switches have been moved below the battery/monitor pod: The inner is the optics. They are positioned close together so they can be pressed
  17. Unfortunately a high percentage of young louts cause insurance companies to wack up the premiums. I fear the alternative is they would decline under 25's for example.
  18. A problem I think you'll encounter with most monocular's is they are usually fairly high mag - which seems to be what you are asking for - but high mag is very wobbly when held by hand. A lower mag one is better suited to hunting and although its no more steady in the hand, the smaller quarry image is easier to keep acquired on the screen. IMO they mostly suit nocturnal wildlife observers who would more likely be carrying a long tripod rather than a rifle that can provide a much steadier view.
  19. Thanks I will get one of these scopes for him to try, but looking at all the tape and wires around this NV he just purchased, I think will end up in the bin. Lol Lol, It's a catch 22 situation: The largest share of the market with minimum time/investment from the supplier attracts buyers who may otherwise not have bought one. Where are you BTW?
  20. Most Hawke scopes are good.... if they have a side wheel focus. I use a Hawke Varmint 3-12x44 SF on my HMR. If buying one it will suit more N V variations if it has a smooth uncluttered eye bell, fairly low turrets and fairly low starting mag: 3-4 starting mag is ideal with a HMR for bunny ranges. You probably won't want to use an illuminated retical. Set it up to suit your eyes for daylight or lamping then adjust the NV camera lens focus to get a sharp crosshair without shifting the ocular so its in focus with or without the NV.
  21. What a lovely piece of feedback - thank you so much Andrew. I agree it's not suited as a permanent fitting - and would likely get thieved if it were lol. It was always intended to be something you fit when needed and don't need to charge up: Thus it can be left out of sight under the seat in your truck till you wish to spit on the rubber suction base and fit it to a smooth reachable surface. I prefer the top of the windscreen myself - but keep meaning to fit shorter wiper blades so I can use it in light rain if I wish: The blade currently touches it without causing any issues though.
  22. Thank you Andrew, I thought I had two left but that is the last one now apart from my own which I won't be parting with.
  23. Haha, that's subject to so many conditions: good or bad moon, moisture, dust, your eyesight and more so here are the best and worst scenarios you are likely to get. Bear in mind what is seen in real time on the high quality monitor is far superior to what has been compressed and uploaded to youtube which compresses it even further. First one is using a larger much more expensive lens - with a crosshair installed and fitted to a rifle - expect to almost acheive this in near perfect conditions: Expect similar to this in poor light conditions without an illuminator, but better with yo
  24. An integrated Black Sun Pistol Grip Spotter has been added to the table:
