  1. Pup has a cut too her pad, its not huge so doesnt need stitching, I've cleaned it with salt water and will leave it uncovered today and not take her out. Should I cover it when I do walk her?
  2. had a great day thanks, mate going tomorrow thanks a lot.
  3. She's only 5 1/2 months, bit young for racing just though seeing I'm going I might as well make a prat of myself prancing about a ring!!
  4. that lot have loads of puppies for sale all the time, pet home dog
  5. I might enter my lurcher pup in the show just for a bit of fun, how do I enter just turn up saturday morning? How should I prepare he? I was thinking quick swim in he river and a brush
  6. I'd imagine you must have been unlucky, my pup has only had one dog show any agression towards it (met that dog again the other day and even though she's only 5 months old she backed the f****r up when it came running this time), other than the old growl when shes gone too far. Try and keep the dog near to you when you see another dog, mine will come over to me when she gets worried by an unfamilar dog anyway. If the other dog gets agressive, boot the f****r no other way really.
  7. A farmer waved a gun in my general direction once and threatened to shot my dog which was on a lead. That is one shotgun that will never shoot anything again!
  8. Did you all know that its been proven that the more homopobic a man is the more he gets aroused by pictures of naked men. I expect people who are homophobic and agressive (try to start fights on the internet) are more likely to have been hit by their dads too.
  9. almost 4 months old 3/8 grey, 1/4 whippet, 1/4 collie, 1/8 bedlington and a fair bit of bat too by the looks of her!!
  10. The old guy doesnt know much about genetics does he. I could imagine an experienced bitch whose had a few litters may preoduce steadier pups through training them better from birth, but otherwise there would be no difference.
  11. My pup was about 12 weeks when she started retrieving, sometimes she still shows no interest and she has only managed to retrieve a few times when out of the house or garden at 16 weeks. She was also about 12 weeks when she started jumping onto the sofa and over the back of it and run out into the garden. Soon got the whip out to stop that though!!! Thats a joke by the way incase you decide to start "Training the Whip Way"
  12. Yes its one x not for lurchers , they move the sheep by barking all feckin day long . My mate went to NZ to visit h is sister, and saw them working .And some of the kelpies were [vocal] as well . All OZ +NZ dogs are great working dogs, and they do make good lurcher xs, But its [something] that you have to REALLY keep a eye on, Especially if they come from Working stock.???? Oh right, I dont know much about em really. They look the part though! I only know about em as my dad used to have a few in NZ, that I've seen in pictures and old cini films.... silly bugger died before I was
  13. nice dogs... so no one knows anything about NZ Huntaways?
  14. I've found that the worn jumper put in the tumble drier for a few mins to warm it up is liked too
  15. I think a bullet is the only thing that'll keep mine quiet!! She is getting better though, slowly.
  16. I would try leaving other dog at home and take the puppy out on its own and see what happens.
  17. looks ver much like mine Hope they both turn out good.
  18. No pigeons in the park today, but she did get a yorkshire terrier running, much to the owners displeasure!!!
  19. What with all the talk of what dog to use on Wolves and if bullx are better than collies I thought I'd ask what to do. I took my dog out today and she jacked, on 3 big scary pigeons in the park. obviosly she needs some bully/staghound/dogo in the mix
  20. Anyone got any experience of NZ Huntaway's? Known for barking a lot so most likely no use but was just a though.
  21. I dont eat much meat myself to be honest, 2 or three times a week at most, but anyway thats beside the point the problem is I dont have much space for storing meat for the dog, but can I mix a raw diet on a base of dried feed? I could feed meat in the morning and dried in the evening, although I suspect she would soon start leaving the dried.
  22. As I said she's doing fine at night now, just working on leaving her on her own for an hour or so during the day. Cant seem to work out if putting her in her crate and leaving her will put her off sleeping in it well at night, or is it better to leave her in the back yard (with a kennel).
  23. Do you have to just do one or the other, its having to be getting all the raw meat all the time that puts me off.
