  5. In his book 'A Weasel in my Meatsafe' naturalist Phil Drabble talks about a whole load of animals he's tamed - including Stoats and polecats. You should be able to pick up a cheap copy or get one in the library. I can't remember the details but I do know he's bred them. They've got copies on Amazon for about £4 If you can't find a copy let me know and I'll try and precis is for you. ISBN for the book 0718116356 John

  10. Ian - I think that the BST thing is screwed somehow. Did you alter the clock when BST started ? The master clock should always be running at pure GMT so that when all the regional and DST (daylight saving time) adjustments happen it's from that fixed base. If you added an our to the master clock when "the clocks went forward", then DST thing would have automatically added an hour too and hey presto we're all two hours ahead of GMT, not 1. According to my controls GMT is set to BST i.e. an hour ahead. John
  11. Mate try two things: Is the string only passing over a top bar and the bait hung low ? If so then the string will 'pivot' on that top bar and go diagonal as the fox backs out. Charlie could get quite a long way out before it pulls the pin, especially if the pin is a bit stiff to get out. This will be worse the higher the trap is compared to the length. Try making the string shorter or looping the string through a square in the back mesh lower down so that it has to pull the string horizontal. Second - try and add some sort of door lock. Either a gate clip for w
  12. The forum clock seems to be an hour ahead of the correct time. I've checked my settings on the forum and I've picked the right timezone but there still seems to be an issue. Any ideas ? John I've managed to 'frig it' by taking the daylight savings adjustment off but surely that should be on ?

  14. A MUCH bigger hawk Or The Poacher's special trap for jumping foxes.
  15. Ive been gonna say something about that for ages , about 6 people will quote the original then quote that one then that one again.....if they look at what they are quoting its very easy to just delete the piccies out of the quote, plus it will be using up the space thingy (whatever its called) Ian has. MOLL. I agree - could do with the 'quote' feature automatically dropping pictures.
  16. There are more of us about than you might imagine

  18. Have a look at Woodga's DVD.
  19. Following the advice in Woodga's DVD I managed to snare my second rabbit last night ! Went out to my permission to find that they'd gone and put sheep in the field, so I was reduced to fence snares only, and the shop bought ones at that. Set about 10, had an unsuccessful mooch round with the air rifle and went home. Then this morning ......... Also had a much better mooch round bringing my bag up to 3 and breaking my bogey with the logun pellets. Now I've got a few proper snares (thanks W) I'm all ready to have another go
