After re-reading your original post I think your perfect car is a skoda octavia scout(4x4). We have one at the work and it is excellent. Absolutely bombproof, safe, fast, 40 odd mpg, capable on moderate off road, good resale value, far more reliable than any 4x4. I dont know if you would get one for 5k, but it would be your perfect motor. We use ours on snow, forestry roads and modest offroad (through fields etc) and is more than capable. Most people with a pickup etc never actually use them offroad to any great degree. FTB

I don't know much about photography, but I would definately say you have a talent. To be able to capture the essence of a shoot day in a few pictures is an art. Well done and I hope you take it further. FTB

Bit harsh replies for a 16 year old laddy. Go on sportsman gun centre website mate, they sometimes ahave good gear in the clearance section. I got a musto technical tweed jacket for £100, worth £360 or something like that. Dont think its on offer anymore but its a belter of a jacket, practically swim in the bloody thing. Hope this helps. Have a pair of mouflon plus boots that look like ive been chopping sticks on them. Not good. Black islanders are my new boot of choice. You don not have to clean them after each use and so will last indefinately longer that the rivals...if you are like me and can't be arsed to clean them. Meindls are a close second. FTB

You sound like a switched on guy who has given this alot of time and consideration. Which can only be a good thing. If you think you can offer the dog your committment (early mornings/late nights/weekend work) I think you will get on great. Go for it. Lab don't you have a navara for sale. Mint condish with one carefull lady owner? Lol. In my opinion I would steer clear of nissan and freelanders. Discoveries are good but you can get a lot of vehicle from your money in the shape of a shogun these days. All big 4x4s are great untill they go bang. You just have to have the funds available to rectify them when they do. If your going for a pickup get a hilux. FTB
