In times like this sadly that is definately the case. I am currently trying to find my brother a job and am getting knocked back from good friends who a couple of years ago would have given him a start no bother. It is getting harder and harder out there mate. One thing I will say is if you go down the degree route at least you will be doing something meaningfull for the next 4 years instead of sitting at home with your thumb up your arse. And whos to say there will not be jobs a pleanty 4 years from now Have you thought about as land manmagement degree, aiming to get into estate ma

Some good and interesting replies on this thread. At least it's one thing we all seem to agree on for once I for one think it is so sad the state of the sport these days, a fine and noble sport that runs in most of our blood brought to a near hault by ignorance and prejudice. So much for freedom of speech, human rights bla bla bla. That only seems to apply to people who know what strings to pull whilst us commoners get shafted over and over again. If they think some plastic celebrity will stop us doing what comes naturally to us they are on to a hiding for nothing. f**k LACS and

Why would you even think that of ''The Huntinglife'' I can probably take the hit for that one lol Oh and btw kenny I don't really like horses either to be honest. FTB  You're very brave admitting on here that you're willing to take a 'hit' . Only yesterday someone talked lab into, I quote, 'defragging his hard drive' :whistling: . I can't imagine he would have taken much persuading! He is always sending me sick PM's full of innuendo about his 'floppy disk', 'getting RAMMED in his backspace' etc etc He is messed up. FTB Wait till he tells you ab

starting a pack is there enough thounght going into it
FightTheBan replied to milliken's topic in Hunting With Hounds
Couple of boys local to me got half a dozen hounds when the local hunt packed up. Think the lasted 4 or 5 months and were out hunting once before they were all done with the .22 lol Its not something you can do halfheartedly. FTB -
100% The difference between a c**t of a boss and a c**t of a headkeeper is when you have a c**t of a boss you only see them 9 to 5 monday to friday and you have time to switch off and forget. A c**t of a headkeeper can have you out at any time and has your number at hand 24/7. If he really dislikes you he can make your life hell and 9 times out of 10 your contract is written so you have no comeback. Its a predicament I wouldn't wish upon anyone. FTB

Easy mate. Aslong as the paperwork Is wrote up you can get away with anything! Isn't a labradoodle a recognised kc breed now? Yeah I'm happy with her, looked up borador on google and she doesnt look like one of them really. More lab than anything else, lab coat, all black with a small White patch on her chest and a slightly pointier nose. Just like you described some labs of nowadays. Maybe she is a 3/4 cross haha suppose I will never know her exact makeup, theres lab in there and some collie for sure.............. Possibly a bit of bull (laugh):...................... You Would know

Thanks for your input mate. I agree with you 100% it is a career more ideally suited to someone who has already gone through the 'daft stage' where you want to be out drinking and shagging every weekend. But then again, the grouse side of things is more and more being tailored to suit the younger ones and they are struggling to get decent lads. What man in his right mind would get up at 4am sit out for hours on end waiting on some vermin to come in, spend the rest of the day checking snares, traps, gritting, burning, shooting etc etc then stroll in at dark Oclock to a wife and kids have a b

a warning to welsh hunts....take a look!!! (ur beeing watched)
FightTheBan replied to welshnutter69's topic in General Talk
Really!!!...............in the middle of nowhere, with no one around!!....Sounds like heaven.... Lab you would get thrown all over like a rag doll. FTB -
Are you a keeper yourself pal? No mate. I wouldn't do it for all the tea in China, I value my own time too much and although there are certain aspects of the job I would love, there are also certain aspects I would hate. I have done a fair amount of keepering work for the last few years between helping friends, family and others but that was only temporary. What about yourself? What direction do you see it taking, Im assuming you are a grouse keeper? The grouse industry is the one I feel will change most in the coming years. Thought there would be far more input into this thr

They are a total b*****d so they are!. I was having a cracking wank down the woods just over a week ago and got 'papped' by one of them. Got a charge for indecent exposure the cu nts lol FTB

when is the best time to start a pup?
FightTheBan replied to clarky 1997's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Nah the bigdog is only a donator so he can sell hundreds of pups lol the peddler that he is. FTB -
I would say yes, depending on what role you are going for. GWCT is very much science based and they always look for candidates with a degree. But with tuition fees at an all time high and work scarse at best I would say don't bother. You could end up 4 years down the line with upwards of £30,000 of debt with no prospect of a well paying job. Think carefully mate before you make any decisions. FTB

Probably more than you would think...worryingly FTB
