I have seen grown men who have been at it far longer make a bigger bals up of things, just to put it into perspective. At least he has been open and honest looking for advice. Would be idiotic to say none should be shot, as in some places (new plantations, valuable crops) etc they can cause huge damage.     Just a quick poll to see how many shooters on here shoot brown hares, whether out intentionally for them or just as and when you see them. I personally have never shot one as I dont see any need to and i would not gain any pleasure from doing so. What is your reason for doing so - to controll numbers, for sport, for food or for something to shoot?     I lost two old Jills earlier this year - about the 12/13 year old mark. Was quite gutted myself to be honest . Get the wee lass a couple of kits and she will soon be alright. FTB

    Even if you couldnt be arsed digging, white terrier in the tin would do the trick if needs must. Vixen looks too well sooked to just 'forget about them' - which is besides the point. So at best your pups will be just ever so slightly(52%) saluki, 48% bitza with at least 18% grey+what ever %grey was in the bitza,this would increase the saluki % if there was any in the bitza, but on paper not overly saturated with saluki IMHO Y.I.S Leeview Aye your right bud, but were talking about field size and terrain - in which case a running dog up this end 1/4 saluki is more than enough.
