  1. For such a small budget I would rather go for an old scope with good glass than a new type which will more than likely have mediocre glass at best. I have an old pecar scope on my .223, its probably older than me but clarity is superb and a real nice scope. They could probably be had for 300 ish if you look hard enough. I was always told to spend as much as you can on the scope, then buy your rifle - and its served me well so far. FTB
  2. Nice one pal. I think sites like this are great for helping others out with gear you dont necccessarily need but others would benefit from. Glad the guns going to your wee lad, you seem a real genuine guy! FTB
  3. People cant dig a fox without a good dog... Im not being argumentative mate, I know these people are worse than dog shit...but who would let their pride and joy go to scrotes like this - refer to the puppy prices thread FTB
  4. I blame the people who pump out pups...I'll say no more. FTB
  5. Came up from down South.I know what pickup he was driving, so we will see who I think it is. And there are a fair few in Scotland I think you will find. FTB
  6. Aye, a get your point mate. Decent pups are sold, but decent owners will make sure they arent going to fools. I was talking more about the guys who come on here looking for a 100% earthdog kinda thing, but thats probably off topic! FTB
  7. Very true. This whole "rifle men a are scum, terriers are the only way" pish really twists my melons. FTB
  8. The section is earthdogs and working terriers pal, no offence intended. I think that was the main intention of the topic. FTB
  9. I think it is there responsibility to work hard to earn the terriermans trust - its what I had to do and I still spent £200 on my first bitch. Because i worked hard to learn from people who know and done them any good turns I could, im now set for life. Too many guys think they can buy their way into a class A kennel when it just aint so. I know lads who have more money than a horse could shite, and they still couldnt get their hands on the genuine article. FTB
  10. Doesnt happen that much around here. I had one occurrence last year when a registered pack went through, dug an earth and left it open. This particular earth held cubs every year, it was a cert - and if left alone provided a bit of fun for me in the winter. By the time I discovered the dickass had left it open, water had got in so I had to backfill as best as I could.. Guess what - this year the vixen didnt drop there...feckin disgrace. Cant wait for the cuunt to come back to the farm to ask if he can get on, ive got a speech planned that will make him feel 2inch tall! FTB
  11. Theyre probably cool with it. Even they arent as daft the limp wristed fuucks running the country at present! FTB
  12. if i didnot have the dog i would not catch any game...you self rightous prick...what sort of replie is that.... FFS, take a pill. What im saying is it was the dog that probably made the cattle rush you - if you were on your own feck all would have happened. Some people have no manners... FTB
  13. Aye your scum... Just kiddin bud.
  14. I put a post on here a while ago about a mate who was desperately in need of a working terrier (he had lost two to ground in one season through no fault of his own). I got him a border x lakie off a local farmer. The dog had been chained up for the past 3 years and was wired to the moon (had bit 2 people and killed a score of cats). The farmer said take it befor I shoot it. I tried the dog out before i sent it to wales, dug 4 or 5 foot to him constantly locked on to his fox and the dog hasnt looked back since! Has been dug about 8 or 9 times and is getting better at it every time (twi
  15. I hope there are people out there to take these lads on and show them the ropes. If they were in my area I wouldnt hesitate. There is so much to learn and only a fraction of it can be learned from a PC. All the best FTB
  16. Andy you have a text. I'll come and sort it wae the terrier if you want. FTB
  17. No they dont. Its complete job creation at the highest order. FTB
  18. I hate out wildlife crime officer with a feckin passion. But in instances like this I wouldnt hesitate to report the guy - it least it keeps the tosser in a job. FTB
  19. I feed mine on eukanuba pupy food. Its eye wateringly expensive but they do really well on it. Fed 3 times a day (cant remember measurements). When they get a few weeks/months older cut it down to 2 times a day. FTB
  20. I would try and let him into the house on his own for a couple of hours first so he can acclimatise without the bitch there. For the first few hours they are together, just supervise them to make sure everything is sound. I am sure they will get on fine, and in time hopefully they can use the same crate. If I am borrowing/running on a dog I usually just stick them in the kennel, but I realise its a bit different if they have to be in the house. All the best. FTB
  21. How many tabs a day Duckwing? I see boots sells a tub for £5. FTB
  22. Might be because of the prelonged ban on wildfowl during the cold snap last winter? Just a thought FTB
  23. Appreciate that duckwing. I'll fire on my flip-flops first thing monday morning FTB
  24. There is no such thing as the ultimate lurcher. Yes there are great all rounders, and there are great specialists but nothing will suit everyones needs - and thats the beauty of the lurcher. You choose the breed that suits you best - it may be the ultimate lurcher to you but it wont be to everyone else. FTB
